Re: Permanent numbers for F1 Drivers

Kimi's reason for picking 7 is legendary.. he had it last year! Haha..
He really does like keeping it simple

He is one of the main reasons I still watch F1. Here are his exact words from Ferrari.com

Quote:
“There’s no particular story linked to it,” the Finn told www.ferrari.com. “It’s the number I already had last year and I saw no reason to change it. I like it which is good enough isn’t it?”

Re: Permanent numbers for F1 Drivers

One year and a season later...

We have some new additions to the list based on the new driver entries for 2015 season:

12 Felipe Nasr
28 Will Stevens
33 Max Verstappen
55 Carlos Sainz Jr.
98 Roberto Merhi

Nasr ran with #40 in 2014 season as the test/reserve driver for Williams which meant he picked that number last season. When he got the full time race seat with Sauber, his number has been changed to 12. So the permanent number needs to be selected only once the driver races for the first time.
