Honda did it again by pulling out another fantastic 1-2 at Laguna Seca, with Nicki Hayden winning here 2nd year in a row and Pedrosa sparkling again with 2nd position. Another American finished on the podium with Kenny Roberts Jr. taking 3rd. Poor Valentino Rossi had a engine blow-up when he was going really strong.

Ah Ranjan...you beat me to it this time...

Nicky Hayden did what most of the MOTOGP world expected of him and won the GP at LAGUNA SECA in style. Dani Pedrosa again rode a spectacular race to finish in 2nd and Marco Melandri completed the podium.

Chris Vermuelen took pole (not surprisingly, since he has won a couple of WSBK races there), and lead until half distance but tyres did him in even though he had gone in for a hard front and medium rear compound, and eventaully finished 5th. Colin Edwards finished a disappointing 8th, while Kenny Jr finished 4th.

There were epic battles in between betwee old 250cc rivals 'Crasher' Casey and 'Wonder Boy' Dani, and Casey Stoner crashed yet again and then there was the one between Hayden and Vermeulen.

Rossi showed he had the speed even though he endd up 10th on lap 1, and after moving past Nakano, he passed Hopkins, Edwards, KRJR and Melandri with relative ease, and looked all set to clinch the final step on the podium if not split the 2 Hondas. But he again fell prey to misfortune and an engine blowup saw him retire yet again. He now trails championship leader Hayden by 51 points, but has still not lost his element of naughty innocence and impish behaviour, which is indeed commendable.

MOTOGP now gos on a break only to return to complete the 6 rounds of this season. Will Hayden bring the title back to the US? Will Dani boy win it miraculously in his 1st appearance at the premier class? Or will THE DOCTOR leave them all as heart-broken patients? All this...only time will tell.

Saw the re-run today. It was a good race (except for a few). Repsol seems to have found themselves 2 promising riders.

I remember the Repsol team declaring that they could win championships, with or without Rossi (soon after Rossi made the switch to Yam). Looks like, this just might be their year.

With 6 races to go, can't rule out Rossi for sure. This guy has the talent, ability and experience to pull this off.

If Hayden wins the next round, then all he has to do is come 2nd for the next 5 (provided rossi wins all 5) and he'l still be crowned "champion".

Rossi has to make sure he wins all the remaining races.

Chris V didnt get done by tyres, he had a fuel pump problem with sporadic fuel supply that caused his bike to misbehave and back off the pace
