Monster Trucks are the main stars, as each has its own persona.

What could possibly be more American than giant, noisy, environment-destroying pieces of machinery crushing smaller, lesser pieces of machinery in a violent demonstration punctuated by explosions and fire? Absolutely nothing.

We had the event and Pit Pass entry and boy oh Boy me and my better half loved the day. There were drivers and their cars lined up and most of them posing for picture and autographing the merchandises.


Apparently, previous years' monster trucks weren't monstrous enough because this year, Monster Jam introduced 12-foot-tall, 10,000-pound "Extreme Monster Jam Speedsters." For five shows, Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore was turned into a dirt track with a big dirt hill,these trucks had 1,500 horsepower engines that made wearing earplugs mandatory for kids.

The eight drivers compete in six scoring events using different types of vehicles – the Monster Truck for the wheelie, donut and freestyle competitions; a speedster for head-to-head racing and the obstacle course; and an ATV for group racing.

Dalton Millican’s Blue Thunder has lightning bolts splashing across its sides.


while Coty Saucier’s Monster Energy showcases the energy drink’s iconic “M” symbol.


Bailey Shea drives Scooby-Doo, complete with a blue collar, flopping ears and a tail.


Aaron Basl drives N.E.A. (New Earth Authority) Police, a shiny car that could easily be used in the next RoboCop film.



Aaron’s twin brother Daron mans Monster Mutt Rottweiler, which features menacing teeth, a black nose and of course, a spiked collar.


Morgan Kane drives Max-D (Maximum Destruction), which featured skulls on the doors and is covered with shiny bright spikes. It’s like it came straight out of Mad Max.


Colton Eichelberger’s Grave Digger, the iconic vehicle that has transcended generations and is every bit as good today as it was in the 1980s.


Old favorite El Toro Loco with female driver Becky McDonough. The 12-foot tall, 10,000-pound beast with 66-inch tires and horns extending from the top of the driver’s cab

Monster Jams are fun. My favorites are the El Toro and Scooby Doo. Even managed to get myself the El Toro from Hot Wheels

The first event was THE wheelie - As we all know what that mean. The trick in the game was to ensure that the truck does a proper stand up than fly in the air which was very tough. The two ladies did out-beat the guys in this round. The scooby doo and El-tror-loco did an awesome wheelie. The next best was the Rottweiler Mutt, too bad the mutt wanted a belly rub on the next attempt.. I shall let the pictures do the talking.

Next 3 events were of competition vehicles such as extreme Monster Jam Speedsters and Monster Jam ATVs. They ripped through the arenas during combative head-to-head racing action.The buggies and ATV's were all pimped up to an extent where the exhaust sounds kind of matched the superbikes exhaust tunes..

Wow, what actions, and what superb photos!
What fuel are these guys running on? normal gasoline, methanol, nitromethane?
Limited slip differential or locking differential?

Thanks Twinn for bringing back childhood memories. Growing up in the US in the late 80s and early 90s I used to regulary watch these trucks on TV and buy related merchandise such a books, stickers, toys etc.

Awesome photos and videos!
I had gone to the one here in Manchester, NH. It was pretty lame compared to this one. The space was too small for these monsters and the obstacles were not as interesting as the ones you saw!
