Tyler Hamilton wins GP2 championship.

As one F1 world-champion retired, a possible future world-champ showed all his worth by wrapping up the GP2 championship. If McLaren ever wondered if Hamilton was ready enuff to drive a F1 car, he's answering their questions big time. Both Hamiton and Piquet Jr performed much higher than expectations to take the championship down to the last sprint race in Monza. Piquet Jr alreay has a confirmed test-driving seat with Renault (possible replacement for Fisi for 2008 season). Hamilton could go one step further and actually partner Alonso in the McLaren, relegating De La Rosa back to testing duties. Also GP2's Valles is to get a test-drive for the newly formed Spyker MF1 team.

I was really impressed by the way Piquet Jr. drove in Turkey. Despite leading the race by over 30 seconds with a couple of laps to spare, he was pushing very hard in order to get the fastest lap point. That's very impressive of him. Also at Monza, Pantano set the fastest lap time in the last lap of the race to snatch the bonus point from Hamilton. That was really good.

oops. my mistake. dunno how i got lewis confused with the kiwi cyclist. guess that tends to happen when you follow 2 sports closely, simultaneously.
