They should drop this format asap. It was horribly boring. No one racing at the end when it was ultra competitive earlier.

OMG.. This might be the silliest idea ever.. concept was so dumb and when we actually see one session of qualifying, then we realise the quantum of dumbness of this system. Everybody is waiting to get eliminated. We used to wait for chequered flag and who crosses the line last. Now the qualifying is over before 3-4 min. Shittest idea ever.

What a lazy boring qualifying session. Instead of this they could use a lucky draw. We could have had 22 interesting minutes. The thrill and nail biting last minute dash is gone.

Marshall waving the chequered flag while all the drivers out of their cars are in pitlane is so lame. Change the format. Use this format for just the initial round Q1.

Yup one of the worst formats they could have devised. The old flying lap format was better than this, in most cases drivers weren't even able to defend their times or were content being eliminated in Q2 so that they can chose their tyres for the race, what a farce. Last year's format was much better.

Hope they modify the 90 second limit to finish the hot lap at least. Or just bring back last year's format.

So Mercedes stays where they were and Ferrari is still catching up. The only good news is Toro Rosso's 2015 Ferrari engine is very much closer to Ferrari's 2016 motor.

Hamilton and Rosberg lock out the front row while the Ferraris are right behind. Verstappen in 5th. Force India are 9th and 10th( Perez and Hulk). Haas and Manor are the tail. Interestingly, Mclaren Honda are 12 and 13.

Just when you think the rules couldn't get any worse, they come up with this. Every rule they changed since 2001 has ruined F1 to the point where it's not even worth watching. So now they are eliminating those who are already slowest, even before the session time is up and further boosting those who are fastest by eliminating competition. Ridiculous idea.

I don't think that the idea should be thrown out. Q1 was definitely more exciting and Q3 a dead bore. What should be done is modify the current format further. Q1 should be kept as what it is now and Q3 should go back to what it was, an all out start to end shoot out between all the 10 drivers.

The new qualifying format is scrapped. It was a unanimous decision and Bahrain onwards it will be the last years format.

Alonso is fine.
It was an interesting race, hopefully it continues the same way.
