Great ride by Troy Bayliss...winning 11 races so far...

He did have a real tough time though...There were so many instances when Nitro Nori, James Toseland, Andrew Pitt and the others were breathing down his neck, but he would invariably end up breaking away from them, and winnin races "SUPERMAN" style. What a way to win the world championship...at Imola, kms away from Ducati's factory.

Bayliss has signed up for a 2 yr contract with Ducati again for a WORLD SBK ride. Seeing Max Biaggi, and probably Colin Edwards join in would be fun.

The fight is now on for 2nd place in the championship...Toseland marginally leads Haga with just 1 round to go next week...Watch out for it.

What a close last round...Toseland won race 1, while Bayliss made it 12 wins this season by winning Race 2. Nitro Nori unfortunately was relegated to 3rd in overall standings...

Troy Corser, thanks to podiums in both races finished 4th overall in the season, after quite a horrible year.

Rumours have it that Corser (no longer riding with the coveted no. 1 next year), will replace Andrew Pitt at Yamaha Italia next year, while lots of riders are up in the market.

It was a good season this, though the pundits weren't really satisfied and missed Chris Vermuelen...Let's see what happens next year.
