Mercedes appear to be holding back some speed, as both Red Bulls go fastest.

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix

Race Result - Hamilton wins, Rosberg second, Ricciardo third

Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix-14707855_685777398245912_4804910355155397490_o.jpg
  • Hamilton's 50th career victory, 5th in the US
  • Rosberg's lead in the WDC down to 26 points, but similar 1-2 finishes will still not give Hamilton the WDC
  • Ricciardo loses second due to an unfortunately-timed VSC deployed for the sister Red Bull
  • Mercedes' third successive 1-2 at this track
  • Williams narrows Force India's lead to 8 points
  • Grosjean scores a point for Haas at their home GP
  • McLaren's provisional best result in their current Honda partnership
  • Alonso's overtake of Massa is under investigation after the race, because Alonso was outside track limits when performing the overtake, with Massa pushed off track also
  • Retirements were Hulkenberg (broken steering), Gutiérrez (brakes), Verstappen (powertrain), Räikkönen (unsecured tyre)

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix

Alonso has been cleared. Williams is not very happy with it. It was Massa's fault to leave the door open. 5th for the McLaren was fantastic given the engine performance.
Relentless development of McLaren is definitely giving results as they could easily taken on the Williams. Next year will definitely be good for the team.

Great Race, I was at the edge of my seat screaming during the last few laps. Good battles in the middle order. I just hope the neighbors haven't reported me to the flat association for making so much noise at 1:30 AM

The Formula One Driver of the Day voting has just proved itself to be absolute rubbish. Max Verstappen? How?

Agree. Believe it's been "hard coded" to name Max. It has to be Alonso for the gritty drive.

Am still groggy and now having realized that my previous post in the thread has few grammatical goofs too. Effect of watching races till 2.30 am.

Good race, nice to see Force India holding up Williams for the battle of the 4th place. I hope they get a good driver for the second seat for the next season.

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix

The driver of the day has to be Fernando for me.
Or Kimi maybe for his reverse parking skills

Ferrari seems to have dropped the ball this year. Kind of looking lost.
McLaren's result here prove that Suzuka was indeed a "one off".

Lewis is hanging on to the championship hopes by the skin of his teeth.
Hopefully something dramatic will happen next weekend, which will help his cause

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix

To me the takeaway from the race was Alonso's charge to end up fifth. Great to see McLaren regain their pecking order.

Red Bull has really turned around in the last few races. They have essentially relegated Ferrari to third best and are forcing Mercedes to think on their feet. Vestappen's pass on Button on the outside was great.

Ferrari has figured how to lose races very well now. The whole body language of the team seems to be driven by fear. Anyway after James Allison was ejected, Arrivabene has figured how to get no more of the team fired by creating a "flat" organisation. You can't fire the whole team right? And just when Raikkonen seems to be picking himself up.

And the funny thing is that among all the melee about Vestappen, Red Bulls, Alonso etc Lewis and Rosberg's title battle kind of took a back seat.

Drive on,
Shibu.

They are running around like headless chickens. Race strategy has been quite poor and it affects the Kimster more often. It was more appalling to see none of the mechanics run to the car (after Kimi's RTO reverse test ) and try and fix it. They seem to have dropped the race at the very moment. I was and am never a Ferrari fan , but feel quite sorry for them now. Alonso is having the last laugh. With an under-powered McLaren, he might be actually sleeping easy in the nights compared to the likes of Vettel and Kimi.
They don't seem to have galvanizing leaders and that's why they are even scouting for Mr.Boullier at McLaren. 2017 might not be looking very positive if they continue this way.

Re: Formula 1 : 2016 United States Grand Prix

I missed the race. F1 has got to have the worst broadcast plan among all sports. Until now Star sports select has apparently played the replay only once. What's worse is they're showing Wimbledon films instead!

Where can I watch it online?
