Rossi delivers first blow at final round!

Valentino Rossi took pole position at the final round at Valencia, but there was barely anything to choose from since just 7/10ths of a second separated the top 10.

Rossi took pole, while a surprise Troy Bayliss (in for the injured Sete) took 2nd place, ahead of team-mate Capirossi who completed the 1st row. Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrossa took 5th and 6th respectively, and are looking for an all-out assault since they have nothing to lose and all to gain.

Rossi has confirmed that he is not too fond of this circuit, while Hayden is more comfrotable here. Not talking much, just waiting for the race tomorrow.

Nicky Hayden takes the World Champ title from Rossi.

REPSOL HONDA's Nicky Hayden finished 3rd to take the championship by 5 points from Valentino Rossi (who unfortunately crashed but remounted to finish 13).

The race however, was won by Troy Bayliss in his 1st MOTOGP appearance this season, while Capirex finshed 2nd to take a Duke 1-2. What more is there to say? Apart from the Rossi crash, the race itself was pretty uneventful.

Alex DeAngelis won his 1st ever 250cc race today, but it was Jorge Lorenzo who took the 250cc title. Missed the 125 race due to a power failure.

The MOTOGP season's last races went down F1 style. Hayden crashed out in the 2nd last race (just like Fonso had a problems), and Rossi crashed and remounted last(just like Schumi in the last race). However, it was a great season....looking for some more next year.
