Karun Chandhok to return to Le Mans 24 Hours

Indian race car driver Karun Chandhok will be returning to Le Mans 24 Hours race for the 2017 season. He earlier participated in the coveted racing event from 2012 to 2015 and is now making a return after 1 year of absence during the 2016 season. He will be competing under the British Tockwith Ligier Squad.

Chandhok recently revealed that he was contacted to be a part of the Tockwith Ligier by team owner Simon Moore. However, the driver suggested that he wanted to do a race before the Le Mans, in order to get in the tune with the car. Hence, in addition to competing in Le Mans on June 17-18, Chandhok will also be driving the Tockwith Motorsports LMP2 class Ligier-Gibson P217 race car in next month's Spa World Endurance Championship round.

It is being reported that the Indian racing driver has already had a seat fitting session with the team last week. However, he will be able to drive the car only in the first free practice session of the Spa WEC -round on May 4-6, 2017. He will be sharing the car with Nigel Moore and Phil Hanson for both the races.
