That's a lot of red on that Ferrari ! A welcome change. Clean design, again not a lot of changes

Definitely not gonna miss the Santander white spots. This is just lustful.
I feel the SF71H and the Alfa Sauber C37 will be the prettiest cars on the grid. How Italian
I kinda wish the RB14 wasn't just a special edition livery and would've been used for the the races.

Re: Formula 1 - The 2018 Season

So the current big guns have unveiled their contenders.

The Ferrari's sidepods look aggressive but the Mercedes looks cleaner.

From an overhead view the back of the Ferrari looks tighter and smaller compared to the Mercs. The sharkfin treatment looks pretty much the same on both.

As the season proceeds I am sure various appendages will either get deleted or added.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Re: Formula 1 - The 2018 Season

Here's the final entrant, the VJM 11. Also, the race livery for RedBull racing. Love the way Aston Martin is written on the wing

First testing for the 2018 season;

Looks like Red Bull will be more in the mix now on the top.

It doesn't seems so. Renault have given a statement that they have concentrated more on the reliability of the engine over its performance and the performance will be near what it was at the end of the last season. So until or unless Merc and Ferrari did the same. They will very well be lagging.

I think the top teams especially Ferrari and Mercedes are being quite cagey about their real performance having generally established that they have not had any major blunders with Bottas topping the sheets initially and Raikkonen ending up P3.

Post Melbourne is when the real pecking order can be seen.

As an aside, here is a cool set of pics showing the testing hardware (and flow-viz) and aero complexities on the cars.

Drive on,
Shibu

Re: Formula 1 - The 2018 Season

This is how all the cars looks. While all the cars looks similar, barring one or two, no dramatic changes. All the trickery lies in the bargeboard design and sidepod area.

Pricing for F1 TV Pro will be offered on a monthly basis of USD$8-$12, and annual rates will be priced according to market.
I remember reading many posts asking for this. And now Liberty Media has delivered.

Now, the yonly need to include all past races to this and it'll be a goldmine of motorsports.

Also, very heartening to see McLaren closer to the top of the timesheets. Yes, it is only pre-season testing. But their times are much better than what they achieved in last year's testing. And Alonso was very positive about the engine though he got very few laps in before spinning off.

Hoping for a Ferrari vs Mercedes vs Red Bull vs McLaren fight this year.

And... Forza Ferrari!

Re: Formula 1 - The 2018 Season

It seems that I am not the only Scuderia aficionado here. Let us hope they do better this year. I do not like Ferrari anywhere except on the top step of the podium.
