Default Rumour: Lawrence Stroll has bought Force India

A few websites have been reporting the rumour of Lawrence Stroll buying the Force India team. Links below:

https://www.wheels24.co.za/FormulaOn...eport-20180724

https://thesportsrush.com/lawrence-s...t-force-india/

To quote one the articles:

"It is however not clear if Stroll has bought a majority stake in the team or has completely bought the team for himself.

But whatever it is, one thing is for sure, the billionaire’s son, Lance Stroll will now drive for Force India."

It may be a whole new strategy for Force India. I hope they keep India in the name though, highly unlikely I am assuming.

It's pretty smart actually.

Why pay what the current owners are demanding, when one can just wait for the team to go into administration/bankruptcy and pick it up on the cheap?

The team itself is a competent, well-organized and efficient midfield setup, so whoever buys it will have a good base to start from with moderate investment. Being UK-based is a recruitment advantage too, given the talent pool.

The name was going to be changed with or without a takeover, nothing left to be squeezed from 'India' for a while now.

Stroll led consortium acquires Force India

Quote:
Stroll's fellow investors are Canadian entrepreneur Andre Desmarais, Jonathan Dudman of Monaco Sports and Management, fashion business leader John Idol, telecommunications investor John McCaw Jr, financial expert Michael de Picciotto, and Stroll's business partner Silas Chou.
Silly season is in full force now. So, Stroll will move to the FI and it is still unclear if Perez will be retained.

Good move for Papa Stroll and Force India employees. Good bunch of people.

I just hope this is not the end for Williams. No Stroll and no Martini funding from next year.
