Re: The Formula 1 2020 Calendar - 22 races & 7 back to back race weekends!

Nothing against any team but this doesn't seem to be right. Racing Point were doing well in the mid table teams. The decision does not state whether they cannot race or what would happen if they still do race with the questionable parts.

Racing Point deducted 15 points and fined heavily as Renault protest into car legality upheld

Re: The Formula 1 2020 Calendar - 22 races & 7 back to back race weekends!

After the entire Ferrari fuel flow debacle last year, this one looks big, but is being down played by the teams. They might have been harvesting more than the limit of 160 horsepower from the hybrid system (I am hoping its Mercedes).

FIA launches another engine regulatory crackdown focused on ERS

Quote:
This latest apparent crackdown looks to address a similar trick to the fuel flow reading, only this time it's reported some suppliers could be exceeding the permitted 161 horsepower of electrical power generated by the hybrid system by rerouting some of the current to bypass where the FIA sensors are located.

The German publication says all four manufacturers, Mercedes, Ferrari, Honda and Renault, must supply drawings and CAD data of the auxiliary circuits which are separate to those where the hybrid energy flows by Friday and physical checks may also be carried out.

Because of the specificity of the request, AMuS believes this means it is more than just a general legality check of each supplier's unit.

Adding to that notion is an apparent warning issued by the FIA which claims: "Any measure or system invented to intentionally alter the electrical measurements is considered a serious breach of the regulations."

While it is not known if any of the four engine makers are understood to be using the trick, the sudden suspicion may come as a result of the continued cooperation by Ferrari to help the FIA govern the power unit regulations.

The Turkish GP returns at the Istanbul Park in 2020 as 4 more races have been confirmed including a double header at Bahrain!

All teams have no signed the Concorde agreement, upto 2025. This is most pleasing to see, without much drama and all seemed content (with the exception of Mercedes understandably towards the end).

It has taken a pandemic to make apparent harsh economic realities.

The Bahrain track will be hosting 2 races, the Bahrain GP and the Sakhir GP. Both will have different track layouts. The outer track is for the Sakhir GP, supposedly a high speed track which is only 3.543kms long.

I am looking forward to the Belgian Grand Prix. Should be interesting. Practice 1 & 2 were unremarkable. Ferrari as per habit went soft here.

However with a power shortfall I do not expect much over the race & qualification. Unless big F can sort this out the season will be played out by Mercedes and Verstappen.Let us see what happens tomorrow. First challenge for Ferrari is to get both cars into Q3.

Different layouts for the double header is good, but I think the faster one, with a sub-1 min lap time, will lead to an incredibly processional race. How about having some sprinklers on either sides to make way for intermediate conditions as well

Ferrari will run a new one-off burgundy livery for this weekend's Tuscan GP at Mugello, which is their own track. The Burgundy Livery is a celebration to Ferrari's 1000 Races Milestone & a throwback to the livery of Ferrari's first race car, the 125S.

If Ferrari knew ahead that this season would be a disaster as its now, im sure they would have wanted to avoid all this buzz around the milestone! I mean, of all the years, they have had to celebrate in year where they have been struggling the most! They are lucky there are no fans allowed!

And all this in a season where the Ferraris dont even finish in the points! Hopefully in mugello it would be better since its not a high speed circuit like Monza or Spa. So may be a top 10 finish!

Looks good, pity it will be eating pretty much everyone's dust at Mugello. This season is their worst since god knows when. 2014 was bad enough, this one is unbearable.

Perhaps the regular matt red paint scheme has jinxed their luck or something, they should go back to gloss finish of their rosso shade.

Honda is leaving after 2021! What a mess! RBR must be fuming. Now Max could leave if they don’t secure a competitive engine. Renault suddenly hold all the trump cards don’t they?
