Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

One common aspect is the additional aero embelishments behind the front axle of almost all the cars to make up for the loss in downforce due to new regulations! This was one area that was relatively clean in past year, now you have all kinds of fins, louvres etc popping up here.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

The fastest ever street circuit has been revealed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The race is scheduled to be held in December 2021.

Quote:
The fastest street track in Formula 1 history – that’s what the drivers will be taking to when they line up for the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah on December 5, with race organisers revealing an ultra-fast circuit layout.

Running to 6.175km with 27 corners, the Jeddah Street Circuit will be the second-longest on the calendar and one of the fastest too, with an average speed of over 250km/h predicted in simulations.

Located in Jeddah’s stunning Corniche area, approximately 12km north of the city centre, the circuit skirts the Red Sea and encircles a lagoon, and with three potential DRS zones and an evening start time, it should produce spectacular racing under floodlights.

This is KSA competing with it's neighbors UAE that's it. If Dubai can host a grand prix we can host it too scenes, fastest street circuit yada yada yada, there's not going to be a single overtake, it's going to be a snooze fest.

Very noob question - why is the Canadian GP always in between the European circuit given the time difference etc?

New season is just few days away!

I have created a league for F1 fantasy here:
https://fantasy.formula1.com/league/180908?ftm=email

League code: 5493c6589d

Some changes to rules this time, more on that here.

We had 50+ teams last year. Hoping to see more participation this time!

I have always wondered about it! My guess is on weather/climate being the main reason and finding a summer slot is difficult otherwise.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Noob Question:

Where can I watch the telecast of Formula 1(Live or Recorded any) ?

The timings for today's Practice1.

Looks like Mercedes has got its pace back, with Bottas just .29s behind the Max's RedBull.

Hotstar. You would need a 'VIP' (₹399/year) or 'Premium' (₹1499/year) account though.

Hi, you can watch the races on Hotstar if you have a subscription.

You can always watch FP1, FP2, FP3, Qualifying and Main Race live in Hotstar VIP. Star Sports Select 2 also airs it live. But it depends on what other live sporting action is happening on that weekend.

Enjoy the 2021 season

Thankyou guys.

I was able to watch the Practice Sessions on Hotstar.
Watched it online on my office laptop, sign-in was not required, as TV was running Peppa Pig!

Live will probably require subscription, and thus switching to the ipad or TV.

Anyways, mistake made - searched "Formula 1" and it did not return any result.
Had to search for terms such as "GP" or "Bahrain"

Star should broaden their search criteria.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Searching just "Formula" sans the "1" would do the trick. Also, you can go to 'Channels' and select Star Sports Select HD 2 and watch the sessions without opting for any subscription I think.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Just a small stat on Lewis Hamilton.

Since 2014, Lewis Hamilton has won 9 races or more per season and his teammate Valtteri Bottas has managed a grand total of 9 race wins over his entire career.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Last year's F1 calendar by virtue of being clubbed together over a limited number of weeks than over the entire year, currently the gap of nearly a month between races feels so long. I keep checking the F1 website every Friday to see if it's a race weekend this time

On a comical note, last year's season could be so easily explained in this 3 second video

Keeping fingers' crossed to a much more exciting race this time - my money is on Perez creating a lot of opportunities (and maybe even getting to the podium once in a while) with the Red Bull. Not so much on Alonso or Sainz or any of the other 'shifts'.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Formula 1 and the FIA have made changes to the schedule for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola out of respect for the funeral service of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh that will take place on Saturday 17th April 2021.

As a mark of respect for the Royal funeral, Qualifying will be moved to avoid a clash with the service.

This means Qualifying will take place between 1400–1500 CET. As a result FP3 will move to 1100–1200 CET in order to comply with the regulations that state Qualifying must be 120 minutes after FP3.

On Friday, FP2 will move to 1430-1530 CET and FP1 will move to 1100-1200 CET due to the rules requiring those sessions to be separated by at least two and a half hours and FP3 needing to start no less than nineteen hours after the end of FP2.

There will be a minute of silence ahead of Qualifying as an opportunity for people to pay their respect.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Seems like rumor's are going about regarding the cancellation of the Canadian Grand Prix. I've been seeing recent news reports all over social media and Google. If anyone has any idea about this, request you to elaborate.
