Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Tsunoda announced for 2021 in a Torro Rosso replacing Kyvat.

I hope Nikita Mazepin gets the sack from Haas for his shocking behaviour.
Surprised sponsors are not voicing their concerns.

He is bringing big money. Its a paid seat. It will be swept under the carpet over the winter.

He has committed a monumental mistake, horrendous behaviour for sure. However, he has apologised, a sacking would ruin his life, maybe some forgiveness is in order.

Make no mistake or argument, there is no justifying his behaviour, just saying let this pass instead of letting it run. People have been pardoned and/or forgiven for far worse.

If at anytime in future he repeats any such type of behaviour or even disrespects any woman, then by all means impose sanctions.

Cheers

I would like to lighten the mood of this thread with this video. This is the sweetest thing they could do for Carlos. I teared up a bit, the same way i did when Checo stood on top of the podium.

Are you aware of his past behaviour?

Source twitter :

punched Callum ilott in the face
almost hit yuki Tsunoda with the p2 board
joked about/threatened outing a current F1 driver
joked about covid
pressured someone to send nudes
sexually assaulted someone
laughed at racist comments made towards yuki

If the pinnacle of Motorsport does not set standards, who does?
There should be a limit to what $20million lets you get away with. Not this.

I was not aware of his past misdeeds nor am I on Twitter.

The girl in question has posted on her Instagram page. I am not a subscriber there either, news article link below.

Take it as you will, in this case her statement absolves him of wrongdoing from a legal standpoint.

Cheers

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

Sao Paulo to remain as the host for the Brazilian GP until 2025 atleast.

The Brazilian GP will officially be named the Formula 1 Grande Prêmio de São Paulo and will continue to be held at the famous Interlagos Circuit, with next year's race taking place on November 14, 2021.

There will be a new promoter for the Grand Prix, Brasil Motorsport, a company owned by investment entities controlled by Mubadala, a global investment company from Abu Dhabi. Mubadala has a strong history of investments in diversified industries, and has appointed Alan Adler, a senior executive with relevant experience in the Sports & Entertainment sector, to lead this new partnership with Formula 1.

Looks like she was pressured into releasing that statement as she has now posted stories on Instagram suggesting that she was indeed uncomfortable with his behavior.

This kind of person just cannot make his way to the pinnacle of motorsport. Even his apology was only for posting the video online and never for his own actions. I am sure the family will find someway to wipe this under the carpet too but there is no getting around the fact that he is a horrible human being.

Well it's ironic given that the F1 community spent this year reaffirming their commitment to anti racism, women in Formula 1 and so on. They are sure to face some heat on this. Whether HaaS can ignore the big bucks coming from Mazepin Sr is the question. Perhaps they can pump him for more given this issue!

Drive on,
Shibu.

I was referring to a history of wrongdoing from a moral standpoint, not defending the legality of his actions.

In addition, she has reviewed her version on what is acceptable, encouraging Haas to sack him.

And Mazepin has deleted his apology, which is very clear he never meant and was only for the world to see.

Re: 2021 Formula 1 silly season

There is no doubt that Mazepin should get the boot, but I highly doubt he will. Why? Because of the money he is bringing in and also this is his 'first' in F1. So, in all probability, he might just get away with it. Haas needs the money and giving him the boot will have significant impact on the team and (may be) a bit on Mick's career. Who knows?

P.S: I think Gunther has also made it clear that it will be status quo.
