Re: Formula 1: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix - Sakhir (27-29 November)

Oh man! I am so glad to see that Romain escaped quickly without something unfortunate happening. The force of impact was too bad for that car to survive it. Looking closely it seems like that the fuel lines exploded as soon as he hit the barrier which gives me the feeling that it the leak started as soon as Grosjean hit Kvyat.

Whatever the reason be, I'm just glad no one was hurt.

Whats with the production team? They show replays that the commentators aren't even on about! And then we had karun talking over the haas principal interview??!

That Halo absolutely saved the driver. Romain has 3 kids. Not fun for his family to watch. Its amazing that he could get out of his car by himself.

And now Lance Stroll goes upside down!

What's happening in today's race?

Crazy crash and even more crazy that he walked away from it.

Re: Formula 1: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix - Sakhir (27-29 November)

Scary crash and Grosjean is very lucky to come out with minor injuries.

Overall, a boring race with top 4 driving their own race. Perez was almost there with another podium but what a bad luck for him to end with a mechanical issue.

Stroll has now scored just 2 points from the last 6 races. He is spoiling Racing Point's fight for P3 in the constructor championship.

That crash was insane. It was like in the movies.

It's one of those times when time moves very slowly. The sense of relief I experienced to see Grosjean jump over the barrier was just too much.

I hope this lays to rest any debate about the Halo. As Grosjean himself admitted, he isn't going to question it again. He was quite vocal about it when it was introduced.

That was bittersweet. I feel for Perez since it showed up his talent, shame the engine gave way. Am glad Racing Point got thumped on points after how they screwed Sergio on his contract.

In my eyes,

Bahrain F1 Podium
1: The Halo
2: Dr Ian Roberts
3: Alan Van der Merwe

Re: Formula 1: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix - Sakhir (27-29 November)

I have never seen a F1 single seater split in half like that. Grosjean was one lucky boy yesterday!

The crash was 53g!! And critical thing was that Grosjean remained conscious and was able to jump out of his car engulfed in big flames. It could very well have been a repeat of Niki' crash in 1976. F1 has come a very long way since then! Kudos to the safety!

Re: Formula 1: 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix - Sakhir (27-29 November)

Daniel Ricciardo had an interesting viewpoint on the events from the last race. Daniel in a post-race interview stated that he was "disgusted and disappointed" with how Formula One chose to continuously replay Grosjean's incident with multiple visuals of the crash, the fire, the car, and others. Daniel didn't appreciate F1 for showing such visuals to the drivers who were waiting to go back on track, Grosjean's family and the families of all the drivers. I hadn't thought about that before Daniel mentioned it and agree that Formula One shouldn't have shown it to the drivers who still had an entire race to complete. However, later on when some of the drivers were asked whether they would choose to not complete a race if they witnessed a similar incident, none of them really said they would back down with Verstappen in particular saying if someone decided not to continue racing, they don't deserve a seat. Quite an interesting turn of events.

Thanks to Myavu for pointing this out here! (Formula 1: 2020 Turkish Grand Prix)

Hamilton to miss F1 Sakhir GP after testing positive for COVID-19. Wishing the reigning champion a super-quick recovery and let's hope he breaks more records this year!

Hamilton Tests Covid positive, to miss next race

Hamilton will miss the next race as he tested covid positive bringing an end 265 consecutive starts, what a sad way to end the long run.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Williams driver George Russell will replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for this weekend's Sakhir Grand Prix. Fantastic opportunity for him to show his class.
