George Russell to drive for Mercedes in 2022.

Just 24 hours after its current driver Valtteri Bottas announced that he was switching to Alfa Romeo next year, Mercedes went public with its plans to bring in Russell.

After three strong seasons for Williams where he has earned high praise, Mercedes says it has signed the 23-year-old on a long term deal.

Speaking about the opportunity he has been given, Russell said: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t absolutely buzzing. It’s a huge opportunity and one I want to grab with both hands.”

I'm so happy that we'll get to see Albon back in the sport, his talent was definitely overshadowed by Max and the spring of incidents out of which most weren't his fault.

Haas actually confirmed Mick and Mazepin for 2022 grid, I think. Still next year is going to be even more exciting than this year with the regulations also kicking in.

Talking about Albon’s move to Williams I think Red Bull made a mistake by not giving him Tsunoda’s seat. Gasly and Albon could’ve made a great team.

Confirmed: Sebastian Vettel & Lance Stroll to continue at Aston Martin next year.

One of the few remaining pieces of the 2022 driver line-up jigsaw puzzle was put in place today, as Aston Martin confirmed an unchanged pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll for next year.

Vettel joined Aston Martin from Ferrari at the start of this season, netting the team’s first podium at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. And the four-time champion will continue his journey with the British team next year alongside Stroll, as Formula 1 moves into its new era of regulations.

Also, interesting point to note: 1&1 Ionos have signed a deal with Haas for next year, which mostly means that Schumacher will stay there in 2022.

Is the Indian circuit completely abandoned now from F1's thinking? Buddh had such high fan-fare both in terms of design and racing challenge. No idea why India is being ignored.

There is some issue with Jaypee (the constructors of the circuit) & the banks currently.

Add to that, the main reason why the Indian Grand Prix shut down was because of the issue with the UP Govt. classifying F1 as a event rather than a sport thereby levying higher taxes, IIRC.
