If McLaren play their cards right and Leclerc's motor gives up, Norris may be an outside should for P1!

You should wait until the race finishes.

Of course there had to be a sticky wheel to make me look like a numpty

Sainz got a sticky wheel too, but not Leclerc.

No more predictions!

Woah, what an exciting finish. A champion's drive to take the win with that 10 sec penalty.

Brilliant drive by Lewis.

Excellent drive by Leclerc to take the podium.
Loved this race. All sort of drama right from the first corner.

Great race overall, and another record for Hamilton. Merc need to reconsider their development shift for the rest of the season. This one's in play!

Disappointed, good run by Lewis but wished Ferrari had finished on top.

Great result for Hamilton and Mercedes. Also, another solid drive from Mr.Consistent- Lando Norris.

Re: Formula 1 | 2021 British Grand Prix | Silverstone Circuit | 16-18 July, 2021

That turned out to be something !
First of all Max needs to chill a bit. He needs to see the long game. Red Bull won't be fastest on every track, and races are not always won on the first lap. Clearly he was at a disadvantage in first couple of sectors, but he could've got back the position sometime later. Even if finished second, that would've been a cushion equal to a race. Now just eight points !
Red bull had a horrendous race and lost almost all the cushion in championships.

If Valtteri keeps performing like this, albeit playing second fiddle, he's in there for the second seat.

Toto Wolff said just one DNF will bring down the margin closer with Max & has happened so quickly. Hamilton finished the job nicely to get that podium with 10 sec penalty. Interesting days ahead -

Not the biggest of HAM and though I feel the accident was more of a racing incident than anything given how aggressive both were, HAM should have made way.

Also, what/why were the outlandish theatrics by HAM post winning: the waving of the flag, victory lap off the track?! And why did he get that second gold-plated trophy?

If the positions were reversed Max wouldn’t have given way either. These guys are not primed to give way and of course normally will always blame the other for a close call like this one. I feel Max should have expected Hamilton to not yield and given himself room rather than try to barge through, it was only the first lap.

If this was any other circuit it would have been termed as a racing incident (I feel that way too), however the stewards played it safe by giving Hamilton a ten second penalty so as to not appear to be biased.

Cheers

Max left space, Hamilton understeered into Max so penalty was deserved.

Was there any similarity between the Hamilton move that took out Verstappen and those that took out Albon...twice?

Check out Hamiltons "love tap" ...again on the right rear wheel. Could have had similar consequences just that the speeds were much lower.

Drive on,

Toto was saying the otherday that they are just a Redbull DNF away from matching the points and we all know how Hamilton sometimes can't make an overtake stick through the inside of a Redbull without sending it spinning through the gravel!
And to do that post race antics, victory lap with the union jack sticking out of the cockpit after putting a colleague in the hospital, and to call the crowd "the best", the same crowd who cheered seeing Max hit the wall so hard, very befitting of a seven time word champion!

Was only hoping that Ferrari would take top spot. But it was hammertime after the last pits and ended in the usual 'get in there'.

On a lighter note when the team principle's were trying their best to influence the stewards..
