F1: Las Vegas confirmed for the 2023 season Formula1 has confirmed the addition of the Las Vegas Grand Prix to its 2023 racing calendar.
With the addition, Las Vegas becomes the third active American venue to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, following the Circuit of Americas (Austin) and the recently added Miami Grand Prix. The new venue is said to host a night race, with the streets of the city converted into a race track. The Grand Prix will also have the F1 cars race across the iconic Las Vegas Strip amidst all the famous casinos and hotels. Also, the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix will be held on a Saturday night instead of Sunday.
Talking about the track itself, Formula 1 has announced that the Las Vegas GP will feature a 14-turn high-speed street circuit covering 6.12 km. The race will be held over 50 laps, with cars expected to hit a top speed of around 212 mph (342 km/h).
Las Vegas isn't new to Formula 1, having held two races back in 1981 and 1982. However, it will be the first time the F1 cars will sprint across the iconic Strip.
The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix will be held in the last week of November. Link to Team-BHP news |
