Ford & Red Bull F1 team to enter into an engine partnership deal from 2026

Ford could be making its entry into Formula 1 in 2026, through an engine partnership deal with current Constructors' champion, Red Bull Racing.

According to media reports, the American car giant will provide both financial & technical support to the F1 team in exchange for the engines to be badged as Ford products. The engines, though, will continue to be produced in-house by Red Bull Powertrains and in accordance with the new regulations scheduled to come into effect from the 2026 season.

It is said that the deal between Ford & Red Bull Racing will be officially announced alongside the team's livery unveil for the 2023 season.

The deal comes just months after the F1 team's talks with Porsche fell through. The German carmaker wanted to buy 50 per cent of the team, however, Team Principle Christian Horner & Motorsport Advisor Helmut Marko insisted that they would only accept engine sponsorship deals.

Ford funded the Cosworth DFV V8 engine, which dominated F1 from 1967 to the early 1980s. The American car giant also owned the Jaguar F1 team in the early-2000s, before selling it to Red Bull after the 2004 season.

Interesting news! Ford partnering with the group that bought out it's team. Maybe we'll see Ford return as a full fledged manufacturer one day? Ford vs Ferrari, once again?

Ford was not happy with its Indian business not making money. So they have decided to find another way to lose more money.
