The Formula E race in Berlin on Sunday was delayed after a group of protestors scaled the fence and ran onto the racetrack minutes before the start.

The protestors are said to be members of a German climate action group called "Letzte Generation", translating to Last Generation. The group even took credit for the protest, posting video footage on the social media platform Twitter. The video shows the protestors scaling up the fence and sitting directly in front of the starting grid just moments before the warm-up lap. The protestors were then forcefully removed.

While the entire incident was just a minute long, the incursion on a hot track posed a safety risk, delaying the start of the Formula E race.

The incident during the Formula E Berlin race also caused a bit of confusion. Drivers noted that Formula E agrees with the concerns of climate protestors around the world and is notably an all-electric racing series that heavily markets focus on sustainability. Most other similar incidents are usually targeted towards cars running on fossil fuels.

The most notable one took place at the F1 British Grand Prix last year, where the protestors ran onto the track during lap 1, which was red-flagged due to an unrelated crash. Outside of auto-racing, a BMW M1 art car by Andy Warhol was doused with bags of flour.

Sadly all these so-called environmentalist hippies only want to stop races and target cars and automobiles!
Not a Single person is willing to speak up or say anything about the amount of pollution caused by wars.

It's funny how they have no idea whom to target, what they are trying to achieve, or how their actions will have any positive consequences towards their goal... They just run around like headless chickens, disrupting normal life for others.

Zero accountability for own actions, yet expecting others to suffer due to their disruptions.

Same purpose, media attention for some cause that will seldom be achieved.

Well, so Formula E cannot feel smug about their race being the non polluting kind. In fact their event just became the perfect platform for some visibility for the activists.

The whole pointless exercise of going round and round might have earned the attention (ire) of the activists:confused:

Wonder how many of these activists that blocked the race traveled to the venue using fossil fuel transport. They should actually start using horses and donkeys to travel around.
