Just read this interesting piece of news.

Wow this will be a great boost to the indian F1 scene. Also Spyker has just launched it's new car for the upcoming Grand Prix.

No offense, I know the man has done a lot to Indian Motorsports single handedly all these years. But we still should look at improving things at the grass root level. Or is this one of those deals which will let us have our own team to put some Indians on the map of F1?

No idea what his plans are but In guess it's a step. Improving grass root level has to do a lot with the cooperation of the government. If you go top down you can avoid that to some extent.

Don't know what he's upto but I'm sure it will be interesting to see how things shape up.

Since he is already a sponsor for Toyota how will this work out?

He'll probably retain the Toyota deal - its a high profile one, while offering Narain a race seat at Spyker. But I expect him to sell the Spyker team in 2 years time.

This guy has great attitude!!!! Knows how to spend his money and enjoys life as well!!!!! He is amazing!!!

I am sure Naren or Karan Chandok (Vijay Mallaya and Vicky Chandok are good friends too!) would be one of the drivers of the Spyker.

Great news!!!

Thumbs up to Mallya!! If this deal does go through, it could be the opportunity for upcoming Indian drivers. Or do I hear Karthi and Chandok already zooming to Mallyas HQ?

KC needs a couple more years experience in GP2 before F1,me thinks.
Whereas its perfect time for Narain to hop in.

It will be bad if the team is still called "Spyker".
The "Ferrari" in the name can be retained though.

How does team Kingfisher Ferrari sound. I am sure Mallaya is doing this take his brand on a truly international level. It might be cheaper to buy out Spyker and rename it rather then pay Toyota to put his name on its cars.

@Mpower. I don't think so. If it was the case, then he should've done it earlier. Just keeping in mind how smart and tricky this guy is when it comes to business.

If he is doing it on personal level, then this is just great and it will be great to see an Indian F1 boss and an Indian driver on the paddocks.
If It's with Kingfisher's role, then he would be having some deal left out with Toyota. Maybe he will put Lexus name on Spyker in return!

Anyway, I wish him al the best. He has done many things first for an Indian, hope this is also one of it.
