- Sainz wins for the second time this season! He sent it down the first turn at the first opportunity, and the race was his from there. I think Max didn’t expect him, just like Leclerc didn’t expect Piastri in the Baku GP. Like the US GP, Sainz looked stronger than ever this weekend and arguably drove better than Leclerc. A thoroughly well-deserved win and an emotional one with all of his family present. He wanted to win once more with Ferrari, and he successfully managed to do that.
- Lando finishes P2, splitting the scarlet Ferraris. Really impressive of him to avoid Max during the first few laps. He drove maturely and sensibly to avoid the crash, which seemed like the only motive that Max had. Him undercutting the Ferraris did help him to close the gap on Leclerc but not quite on Sainz. McLaren seems to have the upper hand in tyre management, followed by Ferrari; RB now seems to be a distant third.
- Leclerc comes home to take P3 after a not-so-good weekend for him. He didn’t get time in FP1 as Bearman drove his car, who also later crashed with Albon. He benefitted again this weekend when Max and Lando incident took place. Since Leclerc was under pressure from Lando, he hit the throttle too hard in the last corner to get a better exit and almost crashed into the barriers.
- The Mercedes duo had lots of action between themselves, and Hamilton came out on top. This was probably the best result they could have achieved.
- Max finishes P6 after receiving a 20-second penalty, finishing a long day in office. For once he received a penalty! His driving style is aggressive, but yesterday’s incident with Lando leaves a lot of questions. They say you are driving at the pinnacle of motorsports, but is that the way you go racing? People do this type of racing during go-karting, and these drivers are well past that. Taking an unconventional racing line is fine, but not braking and almost sending a driver into the barriers?
Would leave it to y’all to judge.
- Double points for Haas as Magnussen finishes P7 and Hulkenberg P9. Who would have guessed that Haas would be in the top 10!
- Piastri splits the Haas to finish P8 after a disastrous qualifying session. His poor qualifying meant that he would have loads of overtaking to do and had a good recovery drive.
- After a disappointing US GP, Gasly finally managed to score a point after finishing P10.
- Colapinto was given a 10-second penalty for his incident with Lawson. He usually wouldn’t give up the position and drives really hard.
The similarity is uncanny!
- Lawson had 2 incidents: one with Checo and another with Colapinto. After overtaking Checo on the main straight, he was caught showing the finger on the cam! Marko and Horner seemed to have a word with him post-race.
- Yet another miserable Mexican GP for Checo, but whose fault was that? RB tried to snatch the fastest lap point by pitting him, and he was almost a second slower than Leclerc! Yes, he did have some sidepod damage, but is he really a capable driver?
- Tsunoda and Albon ended their day early after their crash.
With 4 races to go, both the championship titles are wide open and up for grabs. Almost slept midway into the race, but Lando closing the gap on Leclerc in the second stint made me wide awake.

It actually turned out to be quite interesting due to the sheer amount of overtaking and chaos on track.

I am expecting yet another Ferrari win and Checo having the privilege of disappointing not just RB fans but also his home fans now.

Honestly, I am appalled by the decision of RB sticking with Checo. The team should have replaced him long ago, but they didn't, and his average performance this year has cost them the constructors championship. Don’t want to jump the gun; even Colapinto can drive better than him.
