Spykar didnt have the budget to develop that car. I am not saying that FI will immediately start rocking the boat of other midfield teams, but they have the potential to move up from their current slot next year.
The fact that their wind tunnel can be operational 24 hours is a hugh plus and with limited track testing, its the tunnel where the bulk of the aero work will happen.

Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW, Williams and Renault will take the lions share of points next year. Realistically, I am hoping for solid finishes from Force India with the occassional points.

No effort has been spared so far after Dr Mallya's takeover. Big round of for that. Now a good driver to partner Sutil...

Following is a Quote found in the Official F1 website...

Force India co-owner Dr Vijay Mallya on his aspirations for the squad: “I have given (the team) one very clear objective - at the 2010 Indian Grand Prix Force India has to be on the podium.”

I guess that ends all speculation about what to expect from Force India for the next few years.........

- grabbing some 7th and 8th finishes in 2008!

- moving up to grab 4th and 5th spots in 2009!!

- and finally, shooting for the podium in 2010 probably by an experienced Sutil!!!

Also, Mallya has roped in Shah Rukh Khan to make the team more popular and increase viewership and sponsor support.

That's only slightly less ludicrous than what BAR Honda thought they would achieve in their very first season in F1. The simple truth is that huge sums of money are required to compete at the top of the F1 tree, but those huge sums do not guarantee you top-notch results. BAR Honda and Toyota are ideal examples of this. On the other hand, having an intimate relationship with a BIG automotive major is almost a pre-requisite to F1 greatness these days and this is where the privateer squads fall short. Even a brilliant privateer team like Williams with decades of experience in F1 racing can aim for no better than the bottom of the points these days, so while setting a lofty goal is very ambitious, I feel it's a touch unrealistic.

It is really nice to see a lot of advertising already by Mr Mallya for the F1 team. Whatever the outcome, it will be an attraction, I wont be surprised if they manage to get more ad contracts than a few better teams just because of Mallya name.

I like the logo though, I am thinking of getting a small sticker done.

Anyone knows good places in Bangalore to get stickers done?
