Le Mans Race Results

All YAMAHA podium at Le Mans...
1. Valentino Rossi
2. Jorge Lorenzo
3. Colin Edwards

Very special moment for Yamaha and for Vale for his 90th victory, sportily acknowledged by Angel Nieto who too has victories to his name. Nieto escorting Vale on the victory lap to parke ferme. Great scenes from Le Mans.

What a race!
Rossi about 10 sec+ from #2.

I loved the part when the it starts drizzling.Pedrosa, Colin are ahead of Lorenzo who's at #5. Dani and Colin slow down and decide to drive a safe race in the rain on slick tyres. Lorenzo finds the opportunity and rides like he's got nothing to lose. He overtakes both of them in a just a couple of corners and finishes the race in #2. Dani and Colin didnt even know what hit them! Lol!

And the sight of watching ankle-injured Lorenzo walking to the podium on crutches tells a lot about him and the sport. I was stunned, actually. This guy did all the stunts(described above) in the wet with broken ankles. I cant imagine another sport where one participates injured and comes triumphant.

nitrous: exactly my words... Lorenzo... what a race!! a total stunner, comes out of no where and take the podium. He is so good after the first few laps of the race.. once he starts going God there is no looking behind, as i said earlier i have been observing the way he rides. IN the 1st few laps he is little eased and then suddenly he just takes of. Happened in China too where he was trailing behind at 9th or 11th and then ended the race at 4th position. Lots more to go for him, he is very young at this and has good years ahead. A total Threat to Pedrosa..

Highwayblaze: I think its vintage rossi again, and i am sure you'll be smiling the most .

Stoner was looking so good, but then how long could he hold Rossi behind him. Hope he comes back strong.

Was damn happy to see Rossi riding that way yesterday. Passing Stoner momentarily to let him know he was there and then breaking away from the pack. Was his best ride for me since Donington Park and Sepang in '06.

As much as I dislike Lorenzo's cocky attitude, his grit and mental strength have just got me in awe. Saw those 2 incidents he had in qualifying and I was shuddering in my seat...And he still rode to a podium from 10th place in lap 1!

Don't think it would be an exaggeration if we say that Lorenzo is the best premier class rookie after Rossi in the 500s.

I gotta agree with all you guys. After all who would'nt. Rossi RODE that bike man! It was interesting to see Dani Pedrosa drop positions super quick the instant it started drizzling. And Mr. Lorenzo who was at no.10 at one point in the race finished podium.

By the way it was also a welcome change to see Mr. Texas Tornado -Colin Edwards on the podium. He qualifies front row soo many times but looses the race battling.

You're so right sohail. I was jumping on my sofa seeing Rossi ride yesterday. Btw did you guys notice Rossi's hand gestures when he crossed the finish line?! Wasnt that great him doing the "dusting everyone off" action. LOLL I loved it man I loved it. I'm happy with Lorenzo as long as Rossi comes in first!

Btw didnt stoner have engine trouble? thats why he slowed down and got lapped even!

Did you guys watch the chain snap off a Kawasaki?
Whoa! It was like a snake crawling all over the track. I think a Honda even went over it.

Gran Premio D'Italia Alice

MotoGP championship leader Valentino Rossi took his first pole position of the year in front of his home crowd at Mugello today, ahead of Italian Grand Prix.
The Fiat Yamaha rider, who tomorrow will try to win for the seventh consecutive time on the Tuscan track, set a time of 1:48.130 with eight minutes of the one-hour session remaining.
Catching the draft of the Yamaha on that same lap was Rizla Suzuki's Loris Capirossi, who took full advantage by following Rossi and set the second fastest time, less than two tenths away.
Capirossi's time, however, was beaten in the closing moments by Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa, who pipped the veteran Italian by 16 thousands of a second. This is still Capirossi's best qualifying result since joining Suzuki, however.
Like Pedrosa, reigning champion Casey Stoner put in his fastest time of the session right at the end. The Ducati Marlboro rider's time, a quarter of a second slower than Rossi, was good enough for fourth on the grid.
Fifth fastest was Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards, who had held the fastest time for some 20 minutes before Rossi beat it with 15 minutes of the session remaining.
Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden was sixth fastest, ahead the Yamahas of Jorge Lorenzo and James Toseland.
The two Honda Gresinis took the last top ten grid places, respectively with Shinya Nakano and Alex de Angelis.

Saw the repeat last nite on Ten Sports, gooood run by rossi, great lead from stoner and hayden. One man was extremely quick and that was Alex de Angelis , started 11, ended 4th, he was on fire....

This weekend is again Motogp weekend. Pedrosa's Hometown. Rossi looking strong. 1st Practice session is on.
