While we all hope so, at the last press meet he said that the Japanese track isn't ferrari friendly.

IF ferrari manage a 1-2 with Kimi winning, then the finn still has a slim chance at the title. Anything can happen. One just has to think back to Schumy's engine blow up last season and Alonso clinching it. Lewis will be pumped up no doubt, so expect him to hussle alonso.

With all the action at the front, Spyker's recent pace has gone almost un-noticed. Their 'B' car is good step forward. Fingers crossed for next season then!

My prediction (hope!) is a Ferrari 1, 2 with Kimi leading!

Based on Friday Practice, it looks like Kimi has a good chance. We really can't go by the afternoon session as the Reds were doing race pace setup.

Things have really gone bad at McLaren since the last race what with the latest World Motorsport Council ruling. Even though they are putting up a brave face in public, the transcripts show that Ron Dennis and Alonso hardly speak to each other (according to Ron). Everyone knows there is no love lost between Alonso and Hamilton.

Alonso has said that for the last 2 races he has made sure that he did not share his race setup with his team mate. He of course has more experience with F1 cars and has an advantage when it comes to getting the setup right. That explains the pace difference between the drivers.

Now, Hamilton is saying that he typically puts in a day and a half of setup work following which he hands over his car to de la Rossa or/and Alonso to either approve it as the race setup or tweak it as needed. Is he still doing it?

Are both drivers doing their setup work from scratch and the team is compartmentalizing the whole thing??

With Ron Dennis mad at Alonso, there is a good chance that he might be actively involved in allocating more resources to Hamilton's car. He can always justify it by saying that Hamilton is the points leader.

With Alonso having one more year left in his contract, this should get very interesting for the rest of the season and next!!!!

F1 is turning in to a soap opera......... and, I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm loving it!!!!!!

That is exactly how i dint want the qualy to turn out
Anyway we know nothing about the fuel loads they're carrying and their stratergies. So I'm still in betting on Kimi to win this one. Go Kimi go!!

Good qualifying from Hamilton. Waiting to see the start when both Mclarens shoot off. Turn one will be interesting. Maybe Alonso will try one of his tricks again and then the Ferraris take advantage.

Vettel puts the Toro Rosso in 9th but pretty disappointing for Robert Kubica.

Wet sessions always turn out interesting. The grid will level out if its dry tomorrow. If not, it will bring the rain masters into play. Vettel has impressed in the wet, so has Jenson and Webber.

Hamilton was super today. He looks like a man on a mission. Ferrari could be playing to a strategy as Kimi sounds confident despite a second row qualifying result.

Hope Alonso wins and Hamiltn comes 2nd. That'l give them equal championship point. From there on, it's the better driver who wins.

Freak slept at 5. woke up at 9:30 and guess wht the race is still under the safety car after 8 laps from the start becuase of the horrible rain conditions... and FERRARI and pit twice under the safety car. They are absolutely last right now..but this might just work in their favour. But may be not they've spun upteen times on the track due to the very very wet track.
Still waiting for start though it may look like race will stop.

What a race! Simply Brilliant.Hamilton has it in the bag,nearly.....Alonso must be shattered now.Lets see how he handles it compared to Michael last year.

That last lap tussle was one to remember and not to forget Vettel,he was brilliant, till he lost it.
