Qualifying Results
  1. Lewis Hamilton
  2. Kimi Raikkonen
  3. Heikki Kovalainen
Massa is way down at 5th, with Alonso being in 4th position.

Looks like a tough road ahead for Massa in the race. Wonder if he has more fuel than Hamilton.

Damn, I was hoping for a classic Jap battle between Hamilton & Massa. Too many quick drivers in between. The championship is now Hamiltons to lose

My wish of a Mclaren 1-2? :Shockked
I will be so happy if that happens.

Hamilton has put him into a very good position and let him stay there till the end with full support from his team mate behind.

That couldnt be better for Mclaren to have both its cars the top three. Massa is way down there.
And with alonso before him, that makes it even more difficult for him. Suprised to see Raikkonen up there.

My prediction for the Jap GP
1) Hamilton
2) Massa
3) Alonso

Hamilton in the dumps for leading everyone offtrack in the first corner, Melee with Massa and spinning out. Both Massa & Hamilton penalized. Another catchup race...

Controversy time. Hamilton just lost the race for everyone in the first corner. Just because Raikonnen overtook him on the start he tried to outbrake 3 cars in C1 and as a result led all of them off track. After successfully baldspotting his tyres he tried overtaking Massa a little later and both of them fumbled resulting in contact between the 2.

Not sure who was at fault for that collision between the 2 but it looked like a race incident with massa going off road and sliding over the kerb.

All is not lost. Massa only managed to take one point out of it. Which iam sure Lewis wouldnt mind.
The big gap is the constructors championship. 6 point lead over Ferrari.

But super drive by alonso. The renault finally seems to be on pace with the rest of the front running cars. It will be a delight to watch him in the coming 2 races.

Kubica now has an outside chance of the championship also.

Can wait to know what the stewards decided on Massa! Could probably be 10 place down in the next gp.

What a race! What a day! My favourite driver wins and my favourite team scores nothing.
Great drives by Alonso and Kubica. Kimi Raikkonen did what he was supposed to - get Ferrari back in the lead of the WCC.
Silly driving by Hamilton while going into the first corner. The next incident though was his bad luck, but, that pretty much ruined the race for him.

Boy what an exciting race!!

Did not expect such a result from Mclaren. First Hamilton spins out and then Kovaleinen's engine blows up in smoke.

Although I've traditionally been an Alonso hater, I'm starting to like his driving now. The way he pulled off that big gap after his first pit stop and then managed to stay ahead of Kubica was simply outstanding. And that too in a car way inferior than a BMW.

The commentators on TSN (ESPN in the US) mentioned that there were some rumours in the pitlane that Alonso might move to Honda after this season. Nothing concrete, just rumours.

Also I kind of think that Massa was responsible for Hamilton's spin after the first corner. Hamilton clearly was ahead of him and Massa did not have to make contact and spin him out. He did fight hard for the last point with Webber though, although Webber had like zero grip left on this tires during that time.

Also Massa and/or Bourdais might get a 10 spot penalty in the next race for the incident right outside the pitlane where they had an incident. Let's see what happens.

I hear Hamilton & Massa are co-authoring a book "Dummys guide on how to lose a championship".

Flawless drive by Fonso....well-deserved victory. Good job by Kubica too.

Hmmmm, the proverbial McLaren reliability comes up short just when they needed it the most. Their double "out of the points" finish just when they didn't want it and most importantly an engine failure - Will sure have the team on pins and needles as they enter the crucial last 2 GPs.

Kimi's defence of his title has officially ended but nevertheless, a good drive by him. But for LH's hyper aggressive first corner move, he might have probably led the race and probably finished first too. But it wasn't to be.

A great race by Alonso once again & it was funny when LH desparately unlapped himself in the last lap. Alonso might have been laughing quite loudly inside his helmet.

Heavy rains in Chennai today. So missed a good 15 to 20 laps of the action as we have Dish TV and it doesn't work when it rains heavily. Sometimes I miss good old cable

Now that Kubica is just 12 points behind LH & just 5 behind Massa, if these 2 continue to make mistakes like this, Kubica could just about manage to what Kimi did last year......
