For those who havent seen it, ITS A MUST~! Fantastic race between DC and the A, E Class.

The only problem is the low resolution of the video,

I have this vid of a Williams F1 vs M3 braking test. Both cars cross the line at 200kmph and brake at the same time. The F1 car stops as if it was doing 60kmph.

The distance between the 2 cars was 32 meters. F1 car did 200-0 in 2.12 secs while the M3 took more than 4.3x secs.

Yes thats a fantastic video.
But strange thing is long time back in star sports i have seen a similar race, same settings, with similar plot, with similar cars.... a road car, a sports car, and a formula 1 car. The guy who drives the f1 car reads news paper while the rest of the 2 cars are toiling around. And then the cooly the f1 car starts and beats them all, the sports car finishing second, and the road car finishing last. Almost in the same way as in this video.
Only that the F1 car is a ferrari...
sports car is again a ferrari... dont remember the model...
and the road car is some fiat model...
And the f1 driver was schumi...
Strange!!!

Hey that surely is a one hell of a video showcasing the mamoth speed and power of the F1 car...btw if you have been watching TopGear off late The Stig took the F1(Renault) car around the track the car did 59 secs something which was a full 19 secs faster than the fastest car on track till date the ENZO...the point is roadcars...even the best of them stand little or no chance against the mighty F1' s ...what say guys???

Well, it's not that road cars can't be made powerful and fast, manufacturers choose not to.

A race car is made for only one purpose, performance. It doesn't have to pass pollution norms, it need not have long term reliability and it costs a bomb to make one and an even bigger bomb to maintain it.

Supercars or rather sports cars are nothing but compromised race cars. Afterall, the Renault that beat the Enzo, got thrashed by Ferrari's biggest daddy, the Ferrari F1.

Technically race cars are atleast 20 years ahead of their road siblings. Top Gear did a test and found out that the road cars of today (and we're not even considering the fastest ones) are faster than race cars from 20 years ago, around a circuit.

And, in 20-30 years time, the fastest road car (if it's still staying on the road) will be as quick as the race cars of today.

Ferrari 550 - driven by Irvine or Barri?...excuse my memory
vs
Some Fiat small car

I wonder who copied who....

I read the Ferrari story and saw the pictures close to 10 years back. I think it was the year when Michael drove for Ferrari for the first time.

Certainly in terms of lap timings. But not in terms of techology.
