Porsche crashes into Ferrari at Sebring

Check out this article below which talks about a recent crash at Sebring Raceway in Sebring, Florida. We need to figure out which driver is at fault. It appears as if the Porsche was over taking the Ferrari pack by being greedy during the slow down before a turn. The Porsche then tries to take the inside corner and just at the same time a Ferrari tries to do the same thing.

Which driver is at fault? Is it the Ferrari's fault for not checking his rear before cutting the corner? Or is it the "greedy" Porsche driver who is trying to over take multiple positions at once?

At the speeds the Porsche driver was going, there was no way he was going to make the corner without running well wide of the apex. Definitely the Porsche driver's fault.

It is not that simple, it is like both drivers are at fault &. Over Speeding is to be blamed here

they are racing, they are bound to be going fast.

It is the porsches fault, ferrari held its drving line, porsche tried to push its way in assuming that ferrari would leave its racing line and let it take its position.

cheers,

The Ferrari did hold the driving line BUT he could have checked to see if anyone was passing on the inside. Ferrari or Porsche fault, I don't know maybe both. Can anyone tell what model Porsche was being raced? Then maybe we can count the gears and approximate his entry speed and see if he would have made the corner.

That Porsche looks like 911 GT2, but that Ferrari looks like a classic one!!!

Okay so we have the 911 GT2 Porsche, but what kind of Ferrari is it? Is it the F430?

I would guess the Porsche was going about 45-60 mph through the corner and upon impact. Any other guesses?

It's a Ferrari 360. And at the angle the Porsche was approaching, he was sure to run wide.

Porsche was being too aggressive. Can't expect another driver to give you way just because you want it. Ferrari was right to hold his line

That is a great perspective F450, I have to agree after watching the clip again. The Porsche "expected" the Ferrari to give way which it did not need to do. I read further that the own of the Porsche paid to fix the Ferrari, and all that was wrong was a bent rim! That Ferrari is built strong!
