What next Ferrari? EDIT: Schumi is BACK!! And with Mercedes Benz !!

With Massa's condition stabilising and he being confirmed out of contention to race the next season

The Official Formula 1 Website

What is Ferrari going to do, they need another driver....!

Who's in contention, certainly not any rookie to drive the fighting Ferrari.

Who is that Driver who's going to take the drivers seat for the next race at Valencia- Europe. Ferrari has 24 days counting down.

Are there any indications....? Shumi are you listening ....?

Not sure if they will look at Schumi. I would think that they will give one of their test drivers (Marc Gene and Luca Badoer) a chance to race till Massa is fit and healthy.

However, there is a great deal of speculation and expectation that Schumi should be back to place Massa's place. The lack luster season needs a larger than life icon to revive the commercial interests of the sport.

Massa, get well soon

I too want MS back in action, but will he agree?

Will they buy back Alonso's contract from Renault? Alonso(or MS) & Kimi in Ferrari side by side for the rest of season. Ferrari continuing the development of 2009 car to the last race. Just eating Brawns, Bulls and just reclaimed McLaren. OH! that will be a dream come true.

and for next year Kimi moving to rallys and Massa joining back Ferrari.

Let us wait and watch!

Cheers!

I seriously have my doubts about MS coming back. But IF he does (and that's a BIG if), we can be sure it will be a very ummm... eventful season, to put it mildly. ;-)

But on a serious note, I'm not sure getting the test drivers to race is a good idea. They need to get someone experienced. Alonso is a good choice I think.

Schumi would never agree. Its silly coming back because he probably will not have the same old fitness and speed anymore even if he has driven the car. He'll do poorly and that isn't a good thing for a legend.

Schumi SHOULD not come back. If he does, and if he messes up, it will ruin the "legendary" status that he has.. But it will sure be fun to see him race again!! Logically though, It should be Gene who replaces massa.

With Renault banned for the next race, Alonso is available to race for for Ferrari. Then Massa will be back.

For a moment I was like (though you never know what may have happened to the left eye)......you mean next race, not next season.

Wishful thinking really . I doubt MS would make a come-back! Certainly would make the season spicey if he come s back from exile. Wait n watch to see how things pan out.
BTW is Massa's injury bad enough to rule him out for a few races or will he be fit after a race or two? That is the main question.

Would love to see Schumi back, but don't think he will do so. Was watchin an interview of the legend with the ESPN-Star Sports anchor Sanjeev Palar and Schumi looks like he's put on a lot of weight as well. There was talk of Marc Gene filling up Massa's seat and it looks like that's what will happen.

There is speculation going about weather Massa can ever drive again in a F1 race as he has injured his eyes also, thats what they are saying in the news.

I strongly disagree.

Michael Schumacher is the best the sport has seen, Ever...!
So kindly think about that before saying "fitness, speed, do poorly"

There are lots and lots of examples if you are not aware.
Please keep in mind he is a 7 time world champion and probably the only driver to win races and a championship with "not" the best car on track.

He might or might not come out of retirement, however its simply too disrespectful to say such things about Michael Schumacher, who has nothing left to prove in F1.

He is a living legend, so please show a bit more respect before putting comments like that.

Yes, I'm a Michael Schumacher fan.

Schumi will not return, highly unlikely. The replacement will be one of the test drivers or some driver who is driving for another team. Ferrari can loan some decent driver from other team.
Also Renault have drivers who are free for next race (Alonso/Piquet/Romain Grosjean). One of these could be a possibility.
