Could it be that RedBull is planning to bring along one of their racing airplanes ?
yeah your right. and its not 1km the sealink is 5.6km and the straight is about 3km at least.

260kPH no way. No banked curves. This will probably kill the buger.

Too me is seems as they havent. 7 secons with the 2 curves (without proper banking) and a kind of a mini chicane at the worli side.
They should have mr T.

The organisers have been asked to put off the event until after the elections. So this is happening after the 22nd of October now?

The event hasn't been postponed. The Event manager has clearly said on the Facebook page, that elections will not affect the run.

3 Kms There's no way any land based vehicle is covering 3 Kms in 7 seconds, you need to be doing ~1.27 Mach (~975 mph) to do that ! Even the airplanes in the RedBull air-races top out at 270 mph.

If RedBull's indeed bringing an F1 car & trying to do something in 7 seconds, I'm guessing its going to be A) a quarter-mile run (which should be doable in 7 secs with an F1 car at 1.6g acceleration), or B) a timed 600 meter run (at 200 mph).

Should be great to watch & experience nevertheless

i cant undestand whats this 7 sec publicity vusiness

for covering 5.6 km in 7 seconds. the average speed must be

1789.5490 mph
2880.0000 kmh
800.0000 meters/sec

If the red bull car is capapble of this. then why are they languishing behidn brawn GP.

I surely think it will be a quarter mile run probably. but how will people see it if its on the sealink ?

for a quater mile in 7 seconds
speed must be
128.5714 mph
206.9156 kmh
57.4765 meters/sec

now doesn't that sound more realistic.

the run is happening for sure. I've also said before that the event manager has confirmed it on their facebook page. There aren't any special arrangements for general public. Reach early to get a place to stand at the Bandra recl. end!

Duh! I am sure they are just talking about the flat suspension bridge straight. Why all the senseless arguments. Lets be there and see what happens. What I really want to know is where can we actually see this? On the bridge?

The EC (Election Commissioner) has confirmed that the event will be allowed. As long as there is no show of support for any single political party that is.

Yup. There's an article in today's TOI that says that the event has been confirmed!

I went to Inorbit Vashi today and saw an F1 Car made of around 2000 Red Bull cans!! Totally cool... You guys have to check it out. It's going to be displayed all over the city. Details in the link below.

Check the pic out on this Link out: WOW! 8 Students from J.J. School of Arts actually built an F1... on Twitpic
