Red Bull F1 car @ Bandra Worli Sealink in Mumbai. UPDATE: Report & Videos pg7 onwards

EDIT: Report, pictures and video from page 7 onwards : Link to page 7

Was in this morning's Hindustan Times

Red Bull racing is looking at the prospect of having an F1 promotional event in Mumbai. A Red Bull F1 car would be driven on the new Bandra Worli Sealink by one of its current drivers. They have sent the proposal to the Maharashtra Govt. for approval who will will take a decision with the Sea Link management. Deputy CM Chagan Bhujbal has given a postive response. The Mumbai police will also be consulted on traffic management for the event

It was also mentioned that Mumbai has been twice deprived of an F1 car street run, once by Narain in a Jordan on Marine Drive and the second last year when Mclaren cancelled its drive in the wake of the 26/11 attacks.

Hope it happens this time but my question is that if the car runs on the Sealnk where will the spectators watch the event from?

Wow nice. Red Bull has always come off as a motorsport-mad company with the amount of sponsoring they do. Would love to see the newer cars with slicks being driven on the Sealink. As for the spectators, they can watch from one lane of the sealink while the car travels on the other side, though that could be quite dangerous.

Has Maharashtra Government given it a green signal ?? hope they will give it.
I am really fascinated to see F1 on Mumbai Roads.
Last time, due to 26/11 terrorist attacks, Mclaren F1 has canceled their F1 road show in Bandra-Kurla Complex.

Yay Yay, it should be given a green light. Something like this should happen for us crazy folk who never got to hear a F1 car in action.

General public will only be allowed at the Bandra Recl end. There are no passes required for that. I don't think it's possible to watch the car go closely unless there is some arrangement for VIPs on 2 lanes. And thanks to the high safety barriers on the BWSL, one will only be able to hear the car and not see it, while it's doing 300kph.
Bandra to Worli in less than 10 secs! Get ready for it!

Wow good to see Red Bull doing this stuff in India. Get ready to have your ears blown off by those screaming V8s, all you Mumbaikars.

If Red Bull are bringing a car here, no way they will want to waste this opportunity by not letting the public see the car. Let's see what kind of "arrangements" can be made with the local security or whatever.
