The 2010 Safety Car is...

... shockingly ugly.

What was Merc thinking when they took the headlights off a Nissan?

The Car looks bad and definitely the headlights look out of place on the car. Time for a Ferrari Safety Car

Guys, it looks good when viewed from the front! Last month OVERDRIVE magazine carried one poster, which looked fabulous IMO.

But ya, looks like Swift headlamps from the side!

Here is the pic. I think it looks stunning from up-front. They have not made not gone overboard with the design either!

I am relieved that I was not the only person who thought it looked good. The red is awesome.

To each his own. I find the car unattractive but that's obviously not the universal opinion. But I can't help but ask, why the Nissan inspired headlights, Merc? Why?

Ranjith, good point! I assume the lights won't be a single unit. Rather, they will be able to 'fold' as the doors are opened.

I guess the official announcement hasn't been made yet. Let us see how different the safety car will be from the road ready one

I doubt it will be. The gullwing doors prevent it from having those strobe beacons and it is a safety issue if there is a roll over. Remember, all though the car looks as if it is cruising, it is going pretty hard. The brakes/ suspension / cooling systems are not what the road going equivalents have.

Forth coming E class coupe AMG - most probably

OT..By the way things are going we might end up only with the safety car and Bernie's Classic car collection left to race.
