Buddh International F1 Circuit India

Wow wow

I see no doubt in the inaugural Indian GP.

The way things are shaping up, most of the track is complete and looks like they just need to spruce it up a bit.

I believe the track should be inaugurated by August 15th

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

Waiting for latest updates.

The track requires to be completed by End July for the complete seasoning.

And the focus of the organisers must shift to beautification of the other areas by end of this month.

Else it will not be a pleasant site to drive in and the fun factor will be totally lost.

From what karun had posted in March and What MOD had posted in June. Lot of work seems to have happened in a matter of 2months...

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

More than the grandstands I wonder if the actual track and all the run off areas will be done on time. I'm really excited about the Indian GP.

The rains are sure to be holding up work, but they should have factored that in.

what rains??????

but there's a different sort of cloud gathering over the whole process now, as per news.
I'll try and go see the location this weekend, see how things looks currently.
Anyone willing to visit?

Was under the impression it was raining quite heavily.

Trying to understand why an experienced organisation like Jaypee with decades of construction work is leaving things so late.

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

The grandstand (or what looks like the grandstand) seems to need a lot of work yet.
The track (I feel) needs more work - smoothening, run-off areas, barricades etc
The landscaping of surrounding areas, does anyone know what is planned?
Where is the F1Rocks going to be held?
Has the ticket prices been announced? (I am constantly looking at Bangalore-Delhi flights)
Homologation was supposed to happen in July (?) Has it happened? When is it likely?
@Mayankk, please try to visit and post some pictures (are they not allowing photos taken? A detailed report would be very much appreciated.

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

As far as I know ticket prices have already been announced a few weeks back and are starting at 2500rs.

Other than that, why are we being pessimistic and discussing about a probable project delay. I have not heard of any sort of delay or major issues at all.

So lets all just have some confidence in the organisers and patiently wait for the F1cars to be screaming around the banked turn 10 at what I think will be easily nudging 250kph.

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

I had gone to their website and requested tickets, but was informed - that they will send mail informing about the prices.

Dont know any such prices that are announced, julupani - can you please give more details on the same and share the price list if you have one

Re: Updates on the Indian F1 track (Buddh International Circuit)

Well, there is no exact price list as such, but the cheapest tickets were announced to be at 2500rs. You can search and you will find many news articles mentioning it. It will be the 2nd cheapest F1GP to attend, only costlier than the Malaysian GP which is govt backed.

I think the organisers will be waiting for final clearance from the FIA before actually starting to sell tickets, which should be late July to mid August. So tickets probably arent going on sale before late August.

Are you sure of that being the Buddha circuit. I can't seem to match that sequence of corners with the circuit layout.
