Ummmm Rehaan I think there's a mistake. Its the BMW X5 LM & NOT the Porsche Cayenne LM. Just wanted to bring this to your notice.
hahahahaAHAHAHa..oh my god!@!#!@#

thanks for pointing that out RG!!

just today evening i was walking up the street and an X5 went by and i was thinking like..."ah.cayene... ... .. no..wait a minute u IDIOT thats an X5..too much cayene talk lately!.... what a stupid mistake to make, people would consider u a fool !" ;-]

hahaha.the irony of the subconscious!

and
GTO, your right abt that, i guess what i was thinking by radiator fan was the fan on the front of the radiator (electrically operated). Whereas WRC has the crankshaft powered fans behind the radiator.

cheers
Rehaan

Did you know that while it does not appear so on our televisions, the safety cars are actually pushing the pedal to the metal with the Formula 1 cars cruising slowly behind them. F1 cars have no radiator fans, and rely on the wind factor to cool their radiators/engines...thus they are incapable of going too slow lest the engines toast! So under the safety car period, Schumy and Raiko are just about beyond their idling rpm (idling = 4500 rpm), its the driver in the safety car who is really pushing his car to the absolute limits.
very true.. not only for the engines, but tyres as well
they cant let tyre temps drop too much

in an interview, Maylander said he was driving at 95% on the limit..
he has to be careful not too spin, himself !
it can get realy tricky in the wet tho

but that is one sexy safety car !

well, in a motogp race last year (or was it the year before) the BMW M3 safety car spun out and slammed into the tyre barriers!! Luckily it was during the shakedown lap, before the race started. Driver was ok too, just embarrassed as hell...as he should be!

I remember one particularly embarrassing incident. The details are hazy though. It was at the Brazillian GP practice session 2 or 3 years ago. Massa had crashed and Sid watkins had to be called to trackside. He left his car on the track itself. Then Pizzonia came and crashed into the car and took of one of the doors that was apprently left open. This was in Pizzonia's jaguar days, i think. But i almost died laughing.

if you watch the San Marino GP or specially the Italian Gp, you'll see sooo many Ferrari's parked on the side of the track [not the main track] a little bit inside those fences. It'd be beautiful to see a Safety Ferrari Enzo leading a race
