Here are some pics of the formula student racing car from the technical university of Graz (TUG). One of my friend whos there, sent it to me. Check it out.

A power to weight ratio of 409bhp to the tonne, slick tyres, double wishbone suspension and open-wheel racing...WOW!! It really is a dream for me to practice and continually improve my driving skills on a race track in a similar machine. Just imagine the potential of such racing, even with smaller engines and cheaper kits, in an Indian metropolitan city like Bombay.

The engine is that of the R6, revving this bike engine to 12000 rpm would be some helluva experience!! The build quality on this example seems to be really exemplary, especially with the plumbing in the engine bay.

i wish our indian univ's at least the IIT's do something similar on the lines Formula Student..its would be such a good learing experience as u develop the car from scratch

i thought the iits chaps came up with something think they should do somehting for cars...may be hybrid car or somethin that runs on sunlight !!!!!!!!!

check (the second page of) this post, there is a mention of some kids from chandigarh doing something similar.
