There was another chicane before turn18 in the graphic in post 1. Check this pic below (box) for the old layout

From the practise, Alonso looks like the man to beat.

This track is really quite special especially the Eau Rouge

When it mattered, it's again RedBull on top. Mark Webber on pole. Hamilton on P2.
McLaren seem to be doing better here than what many expected. I actually think Hamilton might pull this one off.
Alonso nowhere to be seen. Either Ferrari have a different setup (may be for wet weather), or they just blew it.

Anyways, i think it will be a great race tomorrow. If it rains it will make it even more exciting.

Good qualifying. good to see 17 cars racing for postion in Q1. Massa as usual disappoints in rain. Trulli overtaking Schumi still proves he is rusty. vettel's making too many mistake's and think still a year or 2 away from championship.

Although NOT a fan of Hamburger, he was the best man on track today driving an inferior car IMO.

The suspension view cam on mclaren shots were mind blowing. The track was picture perfect as always.

Topsy turvy rain affected qualifying. Webber on pole again. Sutil was 8th, maybe he didn't want to risk his car. Liuzzi will start 12th, after penalties to Schumi and Rosberg.

Missed the qualifying today.

The Final starting grid seems to be confusing with so many penalties.

Can anyone publish the correct starting grid for the race.

Wonderful laps from Webber, Hamilton and Kubica to get top3 places on the grid. Massa has out-performed Alonso but I have a feeling that Alonso is set-up for a wet race which is very much a possibility.

Schumi looked good too and should start from 20th. But I feel he will finish much higher, I don't fancy him getting points tomorrow but with the rains anything's possible.
Should be a great race tomorrow in an awesome circuit.

Michael looked strong today and was unlucky to have caughtup with traffic when the track was faster towards the end of Q2.

Read in James Allen's blog, that MS has a wet setup.Hope he puts up a good show tomorrow

The bus stop chicane - where did it go?

>>> bottle,

The old circuit that you have attached is from which year?

I have attached the circuit from 2007.

Comparing my graphic with yours bears you out : the bus stop seems to have been smoothed out and the chicane is almost non existent.

Hope we have a good, exciting race with rains and sunshine; this is arguably the most exciting and difficult circuit after Nurburgring!

Regards

IMO Spa is the best track ever followed by Nurburgring. Suzuka is one more track which comes close to these circuits!

The key surprise at Spa, different weather conditions at different parts of the circuit. You cannot ask for more tricky conditions on a Sunday!

Waiting for an amazing race today!

+1, Spa is one of the few natural circuits remaining. It's scenic, located in a great place, and provides great action every race
Eau Rouge is the best corner in the world.

Some old memories:
Qualy lap from Kimi in 2002, just look the speed he caries through in Pouhon

From yesterday's GP3 race:

That was crazy, just like Nurburgring 2007. Some rain is OK, but I hope it doesn't rain like that today.

Great race, the top 3 had their moments where it could have gone wrong, but well done!

Vettel yet again shows his lack of skills. Ruined the Button's race. I have lost respect for this guy, he doesn't deserve a top race seat like RedBull.

In WDC, it's becoming more like a 2 horse race. Button and Alonso are surely out it now. I don't see Vettel coming back into this.

A brilliant race from Lewis, Webber (except for the start) and Kubica.
But I feel Vettel isn't to be blamed for the incident with Button. I feel he was out done by the rain when he tried to go outside Button and he suffered a deserved penalty for that.

Alonso had a good race until the spin and Massa has improved hugely.

But Schumi had a great race today (21st to 7th) on a single pit-stop for inters.
MercGP are now the 6th fastest team after the top3, Renault, Williams; this year they seem to be going only downhill with every upgrade.

Monza will decide the WDC contenders for the rest of the season.
