2010 F1 Spa - Belgian Grand prix

Hungaroring was a roaring race, and we guys are still reeling under the after effects of the race

2004 Schumi won his 7th WDC here.

Most number of wins by any driver - 6 times Michael Schumacher.

Lets shift the focus to the upcoming race at Spa.

Again, starts off with a controversial Penalty to Schumi

3 way constructors fight. 4 drivers battle to be at the top.

Red-Bulls still flying with Wings he he....

What a season this is turning out to be.

About this circuit, has a history of rainy races, many times rains playing hide n seek at different parts of the circuit.

Any track suites a good car, and at the momemt Redbull do have a superb car, so that are obviously the clear favourites. But, with the straits with what they are at Spa, the lenght will favour McLarens F-duct but the flowy aspect will favour the Bulls.
Ferrari in the mean while, will score big either ways.

If there is one reason why you will miss Kimi in F1, this is it. Just look at what happened in last 5 races there, and you will know why.

Previous 5 races:

2004 - Kimi - McLaren: McLaren's only win of the season. McLaren had a car which was seriously out of pace for most of part of the season. Schumi thought he had this race in the bag, only to find Kimi winning it.

2005 - Kimi - McLaren: Dominant year for McLaren. Could have been McLaren 1-2 if not for Montoya colliding with backmarker.

2006 - no race

2007 - Kimi - Ferrari: Ferrari 1-2

2008 - Massa - Ferrari: Kimi crashed out after leading for 42 laps out of 44. Massa who was no where close to winning this race, was gifted the win after Hamilton found himself penalized. Kimi-Lewis battle towards the end was just what an F1 fan would want in every race.

2009 - Kimi - Ferrari. Kimi showed yet again why he is special. This win was a tribute to all his fans, and probably a slap in the face of Ferrari management. Unfortunately this might remain his last win in F1.

So in 2010, it will be a different race. No Kimi, no fun

This track has traditionally suited Ferraris so expect Alonso to dominate this time. Force India might do relatively better than what they have been in last few races.
As for McLaren vs RedBull, i am betting on McLaren doing better.

This is my prediction for race:
Alonso
Hamilton
Massa
Vettel
Webber
Button
Sutil
Kubica

If the Redbulls run the entire race without drama, I think they will finish 1-2. It's a long flowing circuit with some fast corners and I think it will play right into the hands of Redbull. Already this season we have seen the Redbulls being half a second or so faster than any other car in qualifying. I think the difference might be even larger here (longer lap).

red bulls are good due to aerodynamics but are slightly down on engine power if I recall correctly. so the long straights may give other teams an advantage

Wow! I cannot wait for racing in one of the best circuit of them all.

It's been like ages since the last race.

Last year Fisichella took pole for Force India. He started the race well keeping Raikonnen behind. Raikonnen took advantage of safety car to get close to him and overtook him when safety car withdrew using KERS. Fisichella was on his tail throughout after that but could not overtake due to KERS on Raikonnen's car, though the Force India car was faster.
Like last year, I expect Belgium and Italy to suit Force India the most. Rest is luck.
Williams are on their tail, and Force India will have to work harder to keep ahead of them.
Vijay Mallya made a mistake by letting Fisichella go to Ferrari last year and his technical chief to shift to Lotus this year- both mid-year.

>>> You bet. This is one race that I will see, (after I quit watching F1 in 2010, after his exit), simply because this was his happy hunting ground.
