Guys, the Qualifying was simply awesome....loved the pre-qualifying though....Schumi spinning, Barri missing the apex and running on to the grass and then the slow stuff.......it was the race to be the slowest in the worlds fastest sport!
Loved the way Kimi did the lap, the last section was a flier....Even JB couldn't match it though he had a big advantage in the first segment...lets hope the race is filled with drama and action.

On that note, here's a blast from the past - Keke Rosberg's pole position time of ""1:05.591"" at an average speed of 258.984kph (160.925mph) in a Williams-Honda at Silverstone in 1985 remains an all-time qualifying speed record at silverstone and the 2nd fastest overall record.

The fastest F1 average speed however goes to Montoya who averaged at 161.484mph at Monza.

Holy cows!! in 1985?? it should have been amazing...i wonder whether Keke used super-glue on his tyre to keep him from getting air bourne!

Great to see Kimi Raikkonen and McLaren Mercedes back where they should be. Hope they can hold it together tomorrow. Goodluck!

bit of a sham, Q1 was..
but Q2 did make up for it.

its great to see the mclarens going quick.. it shud make for REAL exciting racing !
its a pity alonso has to start from 16th on the grid for his engine failure..
but that shud, again make for some good overtaking..

cant wait for tom.

Can't watch the race cos some pesky guests have come over.. but the LiveTiming on www.formula1.com is almost as good as the real thing with sector by sector times etc!

Awesome Race ... Good performance by Mclaren-Merc. and Kimi really drove well but......... Who won? Michael.... great strategy again thanks to Ross Brawn, he did it again .... But actually i wanted Barri to win this one but ... no luck for him i guess ...Those series of fastest laps by Schumi before his 1st stop was great

I'd be a lot happier if Kimi had won. Still, good performance by the McLaren Mercedes team. Looks like their car is gonna get better and better with time. The day they beat Ferrari, there'll be no one more satisfied than myself.
If only Button could have bumped Barrichello off the podium... if, if, if,.....

Finally!!! Some real awaited competition to MS. Although he did win again I think that this was the closest to him not being on top. He probably wouldn't have won if KR hadn't gotten stuck in traffic after his first pit-stop but hey that could have happened to MS even and that time Iwould've been delighted so not gonna criticize Tukama Sato. But the major outcome was atleast that the McLaren proved as quick as the Ferrari with some developments yet to be added so that is definitely a plus point. Strategy wise too, McLaren did a good job apart from the slight timing of KR's first lap. In the end it all came down to the one lap where KR lost 2 and a half seconds behind TS but a very good result overall. I am so overjoyed. Atleast none of the 19B cars had any breakdowns or flaws. Lets hope this season picks up even though MS and Ferrari have already snatched it.

A great race today with real neck to neck between KR and MS. The pit stop poker again won the game for Schumi but of course its always that when theres a clear track ahead MS just hammers it down. Good to see Kimi finally getting the machinery he wanted . A classic Ferrari Mclaren battle was great to witness after such a long time.

I bet Kimi would have been watching his mirrors closely in the final stages of the race after what Rubens did to Trulli at France.

Well Rudra....most of us see the race just to see whether MS gets beaten or not... besides F1 is not about 1st place.....its about battles going on all the way till the chequered flag.
