best qualifying lap for me has to be Trulli's pole at monaco...
an absolutely stunning lap..
what made it all the more amazing was the fact that alonso was 4 tenths off trulli's time..even though he didnt make any mistakes that lap ( confirmed by telemetry ) !!!!!!!

the 1'13"985 will always remain etched in my memory !

i thought this wud be the correct time to salute the qualifying genius..
will miss him for the last 3 races..

next i wud put michael's pole at Hockenheim..
how he was 3 tenths quciker than everyone in the final sector is baffling.. a brilliant lap..

third i would put webber's P2 at sepang..
a very good effort..

1997 Canadian GP. JV has provisional pole and has been faster than Schumi in most of the practice session. Plus, his Williams is vastly superior to the Ferrari.

Schumi is the last car to get a complete hot lap in before the session ends. And he takes pole off JV! This was when qulaifying was fun, with the 1 hour session!

That's etched in my memory, primarily because I was there watching it live, and was the only one cheering for Schumi! Thought the JV fans there would clobber me!!
