Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

Sepang will answer a lot of questions on true pace.
Really looking forward to it.

If Red bull continue in Sepang the way they did at Melbourne (not even pushing 100%)
We might as well crown Vettel 2011 world champion.

Mclaren vs Ferrari vs Renault will be interesting

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

Rain is expected on all days. Should mix up things a bit.

Red Bull ,Mclaren should dominate or maybe Ferrari would spring a surprise?

Mercedes, Williams should show where they stand.

Heidfield, Massa, Webber need to show some good pace relative to their team mates.

And of course the intriguing question of whether HRT will qualify now that they have their much talked about new wing.

i think instead of mclaren complaining about the flexible front wing, they should make their own front wing flex as much as Red Bulls. Now again the FIA has said after testing the front wing that the wing on the RED BULLS are legal, so teams like ferrari and mclaren and everybody else should have more flexible wings on their cars if they feel it will help their cars go faster.

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

Qualifying at its best! Vettel pipping Hamilton to the pole. I thought no one could go faster than 1:35:000 set by Hamilton; then Hamilton promptly beats it followed by the man obsessed with pole, Vettel.

A second difference between the fastest Ferrari and RB. Improvement from Australia but a lot of work to be done at Ferrari. Massa also showing some pace thankfully!

Rosberg did a great last ditch lap to put Schumi out of top 10. But Schumi gets to start with tires of his choice. Hope they plan a good strategy to get the most points possible.

It is a difficult field this time with Renault and Sauber coming to the party. Mercedes have stood still and are being pushed back.

Going to be a good race tomorrow. Hoping for a Alonso podium!
Cheers!

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

Mercedes were looking good till Q2 when Schumi had an issue with the DRS and couldn't qualify into Q3. Nico had the same problem in Q3 which meant he couldn't qualify above 9th. Vettel was awesome on his final lap. The start should be interesting tommorow. Mclaren are very close to the Redbulls.

NK is 1 sec slower than his team-mate. Needs to catch up fast.

Podium almost done there! Hope Mercedes does well.
Ferrari doesn't look impressive even after their decent pre-season practices. Rain may play a spoil-sport adding to another pit-stop.

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

Real good qualifying. Amazing last run by Vettel, never thought anyone would be able to trump Hamilton's final run. But...

However, I still feel McLaren can beat Red Bull in Malaysia, iff they do not falter.

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

That Ferrari 150 is = dog.
There are 2 races happening. One of its own for Vettel and for the rest! Boring.

Renault seem to be very impressive. Kubica would have made a even bigger different if he is on that car.

Re: Malaysian Grand Prix 2011

The DRS thing. I am starting to dislike it.
So, FIA thought formula1 is boring because there is no overtaking. So they introduce DRS to increase overtaking. But this doesn't help really because the car being overtaken is just a sitting duck thanks to the silly rule that only the car overtaking can use DRS! Where is the fight in it? Get close, press a button and overtake. Yawn still.
