From Goa with love

Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead. ~Mac McCleary.
You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive. ~Author Unknown.

Hi all,the above two quotations are a sign of the times we live in.This is Sachin from the the once lovely state of Goa.Am fascinated by cars and the aura that surrounds the contraption on four wheels.Born in the freewheeling early 70s when petrol was not liquid gold and there was no need to drink mineral water.Today am a doctor by profession advising people to use less petrol (walk, walk, walk , its good for the heart etc) drink more water (good for the kidneys).Am married to a doctor (who tries to make sure i follow the previously quoted advice myself).Have a daughter who is constantly reminding me to look at the speedometre.
Drive a Baleno lxi which still has it in it to thrill on stepping on the gas even after six years.Used to do a bit of biking which unfortunately had to be given up thanks to a bad neck.
Love to travel (been to ladakh on a driving holiday recently),photography, music and ofcourse spending time on Team-bhp.com.
Hope to interact with all the great guys on this forum for years , years to come.
Many thanks to the moderators for accepting my membership.
Will end with my favourite quote:
Walking isn't a lost art - one must, by some means, get to the garage. ~Evan Esar

Thanks Jeepster for your tips on writing on the forum.Guess i missed the page explaining

the writing etiquette. Will take care in the future.

Dont let your dream of making it to ladakh linger on for too late. They say that ladakh is

among the worst affected places on this planet by global warming.

Of course , i am from goa (north goa). Will be willing to offer you tips whenever you

decide to make the trip here.

Welcome to brotherhood Sachin. Both locations - Goa & Ladakh are on my radar.
Have booked the vehicle to do a self drive expedition from Pune to Ladakh in late August.
And, have booked Club Mahindra Varca beach to be at Goa during late October, on my Cruze.

Welcome Sachin.

I had been to Dudhsagar (Goa - Karnataka border) and stayed in a resort in Polem. (I guess Dudhsagar is in North Goa, please correct me if am wrong. Its wonderful place.) The experience was wonderful when we walked 12 KM uphill on the railway track to reach Dudhsagar waterfalls was just unique!
While driving back, we took the route through Panjim - Murudaswer and was moved by the infrustructure of the Panjim City.

Waiting for your travellogue on Ladakh!

Thanks for the welcome.Club Mahindra is a nice property in south goa.

A good place to relax and unwind if that is what you are looking for .The

action is usually in north goa where all the happening places are set.

I think all members can upload photos providing we are following the rules of the forum. Remember even when I was newbie, uploaded photos in the forum and also dont remember any new addendum on this rule recently.
