Re: "Hello Team-BHP World"

Welcome to tbhp, man !!!

Since you called during the weekend to say you got approved, I was waiting for your Intro thread. We have a vibrant Chennai crowd that gets together once in a while at the beach. There was a time when we used to plan and do Pondy/Yercaud/Mahabs drives, but interest seems to have waned for long tours.

^^^
Indeed, except the Bullet, all their vehicles have done a lakh. If I were him, I would have opted for a diesel long ago. But he chose to again go in for a petrol-K10 last week.

Hi!

What kind of issues are you having on the Alto?

With a Maruti though, you know you're dealing with a firm for which customer satisfaction is a priority so they just might have a mechanic come over to visit you instead of having to take your Alto to the workshop.

Re: "Hello Team-BHP World"

^^^ Basically a/c does not cut-off (stays on) - am guessing some sensor/thermostat issue. Plus after car runs for few kms (with a/c on), there is some kind of a noise from the engine-bay - I drove the car and heard this when we stopped at the toll-booth - sounded like some kind of belt issue.

Re: "Hello Team-BHP World"

THANKS TO ALL FOR THE WARM WELCOME.

supremeBaleno - thanks for the welcome . As you know i was initially looking out for the diesel cars (Contenders were swift and Beat) but due to the current budget and my sudden increase in passion for Scorpio (after the bangalore trip i had taken in it) i had to pull my rein on a modest Alto-K10 for now. Once Alto reaches 1.5lac Km and asks me for retirement then i shall switchover to my dream SUV.

Ampere - Yes, I learnt the ABCD of cars from my dad (A-Acceleration, B-Brakes, C-Clutch, D-Distance) and he never says no for a long drive inspite of his age. Maybe this kept us going. In fact he was invited during the international zen launch (the one after the bean model) here in chennai as a esteemed customer of ABT.

Raj_srini, Kiran, Puchoo - Thanks for the welcome, Yes i would do my best to contribute and also learn from this group. The issue hopefully should be resolved along with the first service which will be due this weekend once i complete a trip to Bangalore.

Kirantp - Its a nagging repetitive sound (more like a belt noise) when the car is in stationery with A/c and Fan on after a drive of about 10-15 km. the problem is that it is not consistently heard and the sound emitting seems to be from the silencer bed area.
Checked in the ABT service pits along with those guys where they had replaced the silence bed and also removed and tightened the manifold-silencer area but still the noise is heard. The current status, they are going to replace the entire silencer bed right from the manifold to the end in a week's time once they get the spare parts.
As this is an intro area, I shall be posting a different thread once i complete the long ride where i could get an idea of the performance of the cars. Shall keep you updated.
