Hi Guy’s…
First of all I must say… Hands down!!! This is the best site ever for anyone who's interested in Indian Car seen!!!! I am really amazed by the wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm you guys have… I though I was a fanatic but you guys are crazy!!!!

Now here’s my question…please:

I plan to move back soon and I would love to import a car back under “TR” (transfer of residence)… I know LHD are out of the question… so what are my options? Can I buy a car let’s say in Germany and still qualify for TR? And how much duty/taxes am I looking to add to the cost of the car?

Any info will be helpful… thanks in advance

Keep up the gr8 work… its one think to see exotics on US roads but it’s absolutely awe-inspiring to see these machines on Indian roads (at least for me)… keep posting those pictures!

Hi Bro.. welcome to the team.. Yes We guys/gals are crazy.. but we do discuss a lot of things other that cars.. rarely.. but we do.. anyways regarding your question maybe someone may be able to help you out better.. take care
have fun.

PS- please go though the announcements section.

Hi and Welcome to the team. Import regulations have been discussed extensively. Please perform a search for the results.

You need to have used the car for a while, for it to be eligible to import under TR.

Welcome to team-bhp. Enjoy your stay.

Hey DaPilot,

Welcome to the forum.

If you buy a car from Germany now then you cant get it here without paying full duty. You must have used you car for around 3 years or something there before you get it here to avoid full duty.

Cheers ;)
