Hello BHPians!,

This is Manas Venkatramani.
Aged 26, Marine Engineer by profession.
Currently sailing as a 3rd Engineer in a Norwegian Company.

I heard about team Bhp from a friend and then further through our dear friend Google whenever had any searches regarding cars,travelogues etc.

I own a black Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDI Ambition bought in March 2013.
Also own a white Hyundai i10 which my Dad drives.

Interested in travelling and gadgets.

Also if possible be part of the team bhp mumbai whatsapp group! ;-)

Welcome at Team BHP. You'll find that beside lots of stuff on cars, there are actually a few threads about on ships and marine engine.

Nice to see another marine engineer join the forum

Yes, got a degree from Naval College in the Netherlands and spent the first eight years of my career in the merchant navy. General cargo, bulk carriers, Ocean going tugs, oil rigs and Anchor handling tugs. Made it all the way to Chief Engineer. We're talking late 70's early 80's. Promotion were quick in those day.

At graduation day your family would be there and reps from all the companies. Your name got called, you would walk up, get your diploma, walk back and before your family had a chance to congratulate you would have several job offers. Those were the days!

Its been a while, but Im still interested in anything that happens in the Merchant Navy.

Would be nice if you could point me to the thread where you mentioned about the marine pics.
Would post a few to let fellow members understand the monstrosity and know what difference 200bhp and 20000bhp makes!
