Break on through to the other side!!

Aniruddha Deshmukh, Advocate (scratch that) Team-BHPian!

Many years ago, almost 10 come to think of it, I cleared the law school entrance, and I felt as if I'd arrived (you know how lawyers get, for the sake of argument let's assume I’m never wrong), then I decided, that I wanted to join TBHP…

"Saar, we also want to be part of team."
"<Tom Alter Voice> but remember we are very strict about this, we’ll see."
"Thank you saar."

Off I went filling up the form, making sure every answer was perfect and of course the inevitable happened, I couldn't hoodwink the "Mods".

I was good enough (they remind of the Court Registry. "Day 20 - but sir your petition is still defective, please cure the errors and re-file"). Back to the drawing board with you they said…2 more tries…you know two more gold plated return to sender notes.

Finally I pulled out the stops, told the clerk that NO ONE (not even those higher powers we must yield to) shall disturb me, opened the sign up page and got cracking.

September 3, 2014
It was just another day, a long boring Wednesday, one of those mid-week days when you contemplate the clouds and keep wondering "what am I doing here in between four walls", you come home, and stare mindlessly at the laptop when suddenly … knock knock!

"Team-BHP Membership-Approved". Anyone remember that line from Gone in 60 Seconds when Nick Cage goes to the Ferrari showroom "Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part.", we’ll that exactly how I feel having made it to this incredible world.

Name - Aniruddha
Age - 27
Occupation - Lawyer

Interests - Cars … Cars … and Cycles (I had two of them the Hawk and the Oversize 9000).
Location - my cars get registered in HR 26 and I stay in Delhi 16.
Rides - Lady Éowyn (Alto-2007-Lxi-53k and going strong)
Arwen Evenstar (Nissan Sunny-XL(D)-2012-28k and feels brand new)

Thank you to each one of you for making this the most special place in all the www!

Re: Break on through to the other side!!

Welcome to team BHP, I must admit I do not diligently check the threads in this section, but the title being a Doors song caught me by surprise.
Cheers, there are quite a few classic rock fans on this forum I would imagine.

thank you for taking the time out and reading through. Off topic- and subject to popular opinion the Doors made some of the best driving music (IMHO), just roll down the windows and cruise.

Re: Break on through to the other side!!

This is right up there amongst the top introduction posts. Nicely done.

Welcome to the community and as has already been repeated much often, read through the forum rules and regulations, else you may receive a show cause notice (Infraction)

Thank You @Dass. You just made my day . I'm reading all the posting rules one by one (its like Wren and Martin-both being just as relevant, and, just as useful). For once I'm going to be fighting shy of accumulating points.

@GTO Sir, thank you for the most valuable tips. I shall keep all of them in mind. The FAQ's say I cannot reply via PM for a while, so I decided to leave a message on this thread (I'm not very sure if I can).
@Mods-if its not appropriate, please do delete this message.

Re: Break on through to the other side!!

In the Tolkien world, one feels truly arrived, when he starts looking beyond the Rings and to the realms of Numenor.

And I hope you must be all deep and buried into Silmarillion! Welcome.

PS: The statement on Toyota and Tolkien is so apt.

Re: Break on through to the other side!!

@ Ampere Sir, Thank you for an incredible welcome and encouragement. The underlying but unspoken message in your opening line is priceless, "to look beyond the Rings and to the realms of Numenor" <I bow sir> Beautiful!
Unfortunately, I cannot bring my self to read the Silmarillion (just as I have never been able to read the following two books 1. Cobra Trap-Peter O Donnell the last one in the Modesty Blaise Series and 2. Answered Prayers-Truman Capote), despite Christopher Tolkien and GG Kay doing a great job, I rest with "Unfinished Tales", perhaps one day I shall be able to look beyond my prejudice, and even if by then I'm permitted a PM, request your copy

Lawyer Sahib, welcome to this most wonderful forum. I am intrigued (and amused) as to why your application went through the shredder twice!! Mine went through the first time. Me thinks it is because my age is x2 yours. The powers that be at Team BHP must have thought old enough to be harmless. It's that grey hair thing. Welcome and happy motoring.
