I'm not a bond - just that 007 is the most popular number among boys and for that matter even men. And I hope we all love James Bond, especially his nifty cars - Aston Martins, and others. I'm 26 years old and an auto-enthusiast. I don’t have much technical knowledge, but hope to learn a lot from this forum. Most of my knowledge about automobiles is derived from reading auto magazines, watching Top Gear on BBC, gobbling up any information on automobiles in newspapers and the internet; and visits to the service station with my father who has a 10-year old ruby red Sumo which is maintained very well (Just got the piston rings changed). I have recently bought my first car - an Indigo LS TDI.

Dad has a 1996 Tata Sumo ruby red (was white earlier) which is quite well-maintained (that’s why it has run for so long – Around 2,50,000 Kms – same engine – piston rings changed twice) and I bought an Indigo TDi LS this year.

Although I’m quite conservative and won’t like a blue neon cabin-light in my car like in my dad’s Sumo, but will be looking forward to suggestions for pimping-up my ride. A spoiler, maybe a bull bar and installing power windows in the front (i.e. after one year – that’s how long I can wait even though the warranty is for 18 months).

Also would like to know about the possibility of boosting turbo pressure just a little so that can brush-away the nippy little hatchbacks. I can make-out from other threads that performance air-filters and free-flow exhausts do not afford any appreciable increase in power and Pete’s performance boxes are meant for diesels’ with an ECU unit. So I was thinking if boosting turbo pressure will be of any help in terms of increasing power but at the same time not having any adverse ill-effects on the engine or any other mechanical or electrical components of the car.
