Finally a Certified BHPian

Hello everybody,

Checked my inbox few minutes back and was pleasantly surprised to find a membership approval mail from Team-Bhp. Thanks to the moderators, admins and the entire Team-BHP support staff for this honour.

I am Rajesh Kumar, ( would prefer to be called Rajk ) 37 years young, a corporate financial sales professional turned businessman. At present i am residing in Siliguri in West Bengal. Belongs to Uttar Pradesh but have stayed in different parts of India.

I have been following Team Bhp since many years, primarily to get information on road trips, to read awesome travelogoues, technical information, info on new vehicle launches and so on.

I learned riding and driving quite late in my life, the reason being bought up in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, where even to get a cycle to ride was a tedious job then. But those were the days, being brought up in the hills amongst the mountains, rivers and plenty of fresh air is in itself a luxury.

My cycling lessons stated only when we use to go to our village during our winter vacations, I learned cycling when I was around 15 yrs. Subsequent tranfers brought my Dad to Allahabad and then from there I started toying with the machines.

One of my friend managed to bring his Uncle's scooter, Bajaj Chetak and we both learned to ride on it. From the day one I did not find any difficulty in riding one. Perhaps my eagerness to ride made things easier.

Then there was no stopping.

My first own ride was LML Vespa Select - 1995

Second ride was Bajaj Pulsar 150cc - 2005

Third and present drive Hyundai Santro GLX - 2009

Have done numerous road trips to various locations on my Santro. Some of my memorable drives on it were:

1. Kolkata-Bhubaneshwar-Puri
2. Kolkata-Siliguri/Siliguri-Kalimpong
3. Delhi-Shimla
4. Delhi-Kausani
5. Delhi-Nainital ( twice)
6. Delhi-Lansdowne
7. Delhi-Rishikesh ( twice)
8. Delhi-Chandigarh
9. Delhi-Agra
10. Delhi-Mussorie
11. Delhi-Lucknow-Muzzafarpur-Siliguri.

Apart from the above, have also done many road trips on other vehicles.

And yes, I know quite a bit of Team Bhp members also, have two brothers in law as members here, Rahul Kejriwal and Pankaj Agarwal. And I also attended a small Team BHp get together in Siliguri few months back where I met two more members.

Hoping to have a great time here with all of you. Looking forward to loads and loads of fun and information.

Good Night BHPians.

With Love

Rajk.
