Finally Onboard

Hey all,

Finally after a long wait I'm onboard on the biggest online Automobile Scene in the country.

I started my obsession with cars very young. This was just compounded by the set of die-cast model cars gifted by my Uncle when I was 4, and before I knew it I was chasing Amby Mark 1 & 2 on the roads of Trivandrum. After that there has been absolutely no turning back and not much has changed (given the fact that 31 years later I'm still buying die-cast cars under the garb of my son).

It started with a Blue Premier Padmini owned by my uncle, which was then replaced by the famous Bayers Blue Maruti 800. Subsequently, the family got a Maruti Omni which paved the way for the quintessential Maruti Zen. The Zen went on till I decided to pull a Casino Royale and totaled the car. In the interim, my obsession for the Daewoo led me to pick up a Cielo AT. This was the time I realised, that vehicles too have souls. The car that was perfect in my hands, turned into a nightmare for my dad. Soon the vehicle was sold off to an auto garage. An Esteem and Wagon R later, arrived the Manza (Petrol ABS version).

The Wagon R still labours on while the Manza has been replaced with an i10 (sadly). Soon to be added to my garage is the XUV 500.

Being a Navy man, entails one very exciting perk, I don't stay in a place for more than 5 years max. This has lead me to Goa, Kochi, Lonavala, Pune, Mumbai, Jamnagar, Vizag, Delhi, Chennai, Trivandrum and finally back at Jamnagar for the last 3 years.

I love cars that are reliable and trustworthy. I strongly believe that a car only reflects the way you treat it. Given my interest in automobiles, my education speaks quite the opposite, with a Bachelor's in EEE and Masters in ICT.

On the family front I have a wife who is obsessed with Mechanical Engineering (according to her, it is the purest form of Engineering there is) and 6 yr old brat who is even more into Cars than I am.

Hope to form a strong and lasting bond with the Team that cast my interest for Cars in concrete.

Glad you emerged okay from the accident though.

Highly under-rated sedan (I'd pick the diesel though). It was very competent for its time.

My favourite SUV! Congrats. Do consider the AT also. Mahindra has done a surprisingly good job with mating the engine + transmission.
