Intro...

Fellow enthusiasts,

Dont see too many oldies here (if 40+ do classify me as an oldie...), but anyway, having stumbled on to here, this is a great place to be indeed.

My first experience about real cars (not the Amby, Fiat variety) came not from the real metal experience, but from libraries. It must have been late 70's or early 80's, and visits to University Library or British Library were mostly to drool over car pictures/adverts/reviews in car or science magazines... Unfortunately, no websites, no showrooms, no nothing, so it was all hard leg work to get to know these machines, especially when you are in Trivandrum.

Over the years, 4 cars that has had me drooling
Volvo 760 GLE
Mazda RX-7
Subaru SVX
Subaru Impreza

I had no chance to own/drive in any of these, but did get chance to be a passenger in the RX-7, with the owner colleague of mine putting it through its paces, and that was surreal.

Well, now that I am domesticated with family and everything, I am on the look for something with a bit of testosterone. I drove the Optra Magnum 2.0 Diesel, it seems to have enough hormones in it (best I could find in the 10 lakh budget).

best

Magnum does have enough testosterones for its sub- 10 L price. Nice choice!

And, You are from trivandrum?

Welcome on board. Bangalore is/was a pensioner's paradise and two grouchy old mods live here. One with a black Optra, and one with a little black honda

Sure iraghava. When I find some quiet time to myself that is...
With 3 screaming kids, 2 bosses (1 @ work and 1 @ home), you know what it's like!

being an old hat: mostly on paper. my first car was the good old maruti 800 (jap import), second hand, bought after 4 years of working. Until then it was KSRTC or BTS.

definitely you will find company here, if you are looking for 40+ people. but as a fellow bhpian said once to me in a team-bhp meet :
" nobody is going to talk about age, height and weight "... .

you will love this place and the people(that includes all ages).
