Hi @simply_sunny, welcome to Team BHP. Spread you sunshine and enjoy the company of the auto-crazies.

Are you fed up with the Tata dealer's service setup? Usually dropping an email to Tata Motors works wonders - there is a link on their website.

Did you mean the rear door or the tailgate? What's wrong with it? Sometimes self-help works - you just need to get the hang of taking apart and putting things together. Sort of like enhancing code written by others, expept that you need a different set of tools.

Welcome to Team BHP. Please go through the forum rules in the announcements section - you'll find some guidelines on the use of the language on the forum.

Reg. your Safari door - please check whether you have the rubber bushes with spacers on the bottom LHS of the door frame. If you dont, you need to get these retrofitted by Tata Motors. If you do, check if the spacers have been properly screwed in - if not they could be jutting out.

Just ask your Dealer to give you the Tata Motors Regional Office number and the name of the Regional Manager. That will let him know you're pissed off.

Thanks a lot guys

sometimes its quiet but most of times it rattles and its the Tailgate(the big gate with a huge weight of the stepny)

the mechanics at Nawab Motors have tries almost 7-8 times and its not working out so will surely ask them abt Regional Managers' nos and all.

Actually it can be anything behind the second row that is not securely fastened - sound reflections can be confusing and the source hard to detect. The likely culprits can be loose cables in the sides or tailgate or even plastic parts. Just below the right jump seat there is a plastic panel (hiding an empty compartment don't know for what) which is notorious for coming loose and rattling when driving on uneven roads.

Also, if the second row seat back latch is not fixed completely, it goes taka-taka-taka-taka.

For knowing what is causing it, you should get someone to drive over a bad road (not difficult to find in India) - and you sit in the back (boot) to figure out where the sound is coming from by putting your ear close to the panels. At a pinch, softly touching the panel with your fingertips will also help locale the culprit.

Happy hunting, buddy.
